You know why? Those guys are BIG and they are in their primes AND they are in a weight class that is comfortable to them and that they are proven in.

Floyd is an awesome boxer but he HAS NEVER UNIFIED OR ATTEMPTED TO UNIFY ANY DIVISION HE HAS EVER FOUGHT IN. That being 100% the case there have been AT LEAST 3 fighters per division that Floyd has either not fought, they have ducked him, or FLOYD ducked them and it is definently one of the three. Sure I can understand why Floyd wouldn't want to waste his time fighting Selcuk Aydin or Ashley Theophane....but why not someone like Cotto, Williams, Berto, etc.....I personally think Miguel Cotto is just as big of a draw as anyone else at welterweight these days so why not fight him Because he's not EASY money like Marquez was.....especially when Floyd is so fucking unsportsmanlike to make the God damned weight.

There was a REASON that was supposed to be a catch weight fight and everyone saw it by the end of the night. I'm not saying 2 pounds made all the difference but Floyd didn't even go to the sauna to sweat it out to be a good sport that is the cheapest shit and very unprofessional.
He won the lineal title from shitty Baldomir, then fought in 2 of the biggest moneymaking events of the past 25 years. name me a boxer that would have ignored all of that to fight a prospect at the time Williams or Cotto Mosely who fought 1 month before he fought Hatton? Then he took a Comeback fight after almost 2 years against JMM. I mean read man, If his next 1-2 fights are against Jorge Lianres or Tim Bradley than I'll join the witchunt, but the majority of you are being bitter pricks...

According to all of you Floyd was irrelevant when he retired, you hated he was #1, now you have your exciting be all end all Henry Armstrong Manny Pacquiao. So the good news is you dont have to worry about Floyd you should all be more occupied with Pac

Last time I checked contracts dont get signed during post fight interviews, so all of you bleeding hearts with your arms around Shanse Mosely calling Floyd a pussy really need to grow up already

Paul Williams is begging for a fight with ANYONE right now....So has nothignt o do with Bleeding hearts and Mosley...Has to do with Floyd not going after an opponent he KNOWS he will beat....REAL champions don't go after fighters they know are less talented they seek the best available...Floyd since he left 135 has sought out the weakest link in every division...FACT...His record speaks for itself.......Hatton was tailor made for any counter puncher and he kept Floyd busy for a while....He certainly did not shut out Oscar and that was a far from best DLH

hell then going by your logic JT, Mayweather said he fought Hatton and Marquez for the same reason, cause they called him out, fuck, Mosley's been calling him out, so why does he need any other motive to take the fight?

Paul Williams is begging for a fight with ANYONE right now
Weird, thought he had a tentative fight with Pavlik based on a his health of course and date

....So has nothignt o do with Bleeding hearts and Mosley...Has to do with Floyd not going after an opponent he KNOWS he will beat....REAL
He was out of the sport for a while Daxx, and he took on JMM.. Just like Trinidad and DLH handpicked Mayorga since his style was tailor made for them, regardless of size

    .
Hatton was tailor made for any counter puncher and he kept Floyd busy for a while....He certainly did not shut out Oscar and that was a far from best DLH
I find that logic mondo BS, by your logic than Manny Pacquiaos wins are less impressive because Floyd beat those guys 2 years prior to Pac doing it This forum went ape shit as well as everyone else when this fight was announced tons of people wanted to see it, because they claimed Ricky's jab, headmovement, closing distance, body punching, power, stamina and ruthless aggression was the silver bullet to beat Mayweather.

As well as Oscars Physical advantages, size, chin, power, jab as well EVERY OTHER CONTRACTUAL ADVANTAGES was what it would take to beat Floyd.

Its so predictable, when a Mayweather fight is announced with the exception of JMM You haters with your pitchforks and torches proclaim that the little phucker is finally going to get his because of the above mentioned matchups only to have Floyd beat the guy and you all belly ache, same pattern wash, rinse and repeat.

So now that he isint fighting Shane next week the whole Floyds ducking groans are starting up again even though its routine that fighters always negoiate their fights in a 72 hour window after their contest
Floyd obviously missed that amendment put in the Commission rules by Daxx and his lackeys so apparently Mayweather is ducking Shane..

Hatton is not tailor made for a counter puncher?

There is a difference between hoping a guy beats another and actually knowing it will happen.

I do agree on the fac t people get a bit over zealous stating this guy will beat that one because of this or that...In t6his case the Mayweather/Hatton fight...People do tend to let their emotions write checks their fighters cant cash.....

As far as Mayorga fighting Tito and Oscar...The size really was nbot signifigant nor the weight and Mayorga was damn dangerous at that time for anyone

Mayorga (a natural welterweight) moved up to Middleweight to fight Trinidad who hadn't fought in over 2 yrs like Mayweather, and only up to Jr Middle to fight a DLH who hadn't fought in 2 yrs as well, and the difference is Mayweather is in his prime, when DLH and Tito were notably past it

and aside from the Hatton fanboys, but the general public (myself included) said that Mayweather/Hatton = Calzaghe/Lacy

whats the difference from what Oscar did to what Mayweather has done against Hatton and Marquez? both had to move up, both had to go to Vegas (which is Mayweather's second home), and well in the Marquez fight he didn't even bother to honor his contract and make the weight, IMO Mayweather is an ATG talent, but does he go after the best at his best, no

Pacquiao beat Hatton at his best, 140 pounds. Hatton at 147 is a completely different fighter and completely worse fighter.

If Floyd is going to call himself "The Greatest" then he and his fans had best be prepared for Floyd's career to be picked apart and criticized by anybody and everybody. Anybody can SAY they are "The Greatest" but the true greats don't have to say it, they can just say "Look at the resume"....Floyd can't say the latter (for now) and after he beats (if he's able to do that) there will still be fights out there for him and he will HAVE to fight them in order to be considered "The Greatest" by the majority of fans.

Is Floyd skilled as hell? Sure as fuck he is! The only guy I can compare him to (in recent history) is a Prime Roy Jones Jr., that is the guy who could dominate any big name put infront of him with ease....but IMO Roy accomplished more (UNIFICATION at 175) and took more risks with his career than Floyd has with his.

Jose Luis Castillo, Diego Corrales, and Oscar De la Hoya are the biggest risks Floyd has taken. Ricky Hatton would have been a risk had we not seen what he did (or didn't do) vs Collazo...Marquez would have been a risk MAYBE at 135...Baldomir was never a risk, Gatti was on the border, Judah wasn't a risk.

Floyd doesn't have the desire to prove the fans wrong, he only has the desire to make the fans angry and pay to see someone beat him, that is the appeal of Floyd Mayweather right now.

Shane Mosley stepped his game up and fought De la Hoya twice, he fought Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright, he didn't have to but he wanted to prove himself to the fans.

De la Hoya took on Trinidad, Vargas, Hopkins...sure he got a gift vs Sturm but he tried FFS!

Ray Leonard, talk about an asshole, Ray was one cocky motherfucker, but he chased down Duran, Hearns, and Hagler (amongst others) to PROVE he was great it didn't even matter he got beat by Duran or if he got a gift vs Hagler he sought them out to prove himself and by fighting THE BEST he is considered one of the best of all time.

Ray Robinson fought 200 bouts, I don't expect anything like that from Floyd or anyone else, but if you fight 200 times you obviously can't help but fight everyone in and around your weight class...Ray did it and he TOOK CHANCES and sometimes he won and sometimes he lost but he is THE GREATEST.

....Floyd doesn't take risks, he doesn't try and prove himself and he doesn't try and win fans over. If Floyd falls, he's going to fall hard, and the fans will be ready to throw dirt on him as soon as he's down because he has committed one of the worst crimes in boxing...hiding your true skill by not testing yourself, by not taking any chances. Sure it may seem strange that a Klitschko fan has called out someone for not taking chances, but Wlad and Vitali take chances by making the fights, they don't take chances in their strategy and neither does Floyd, I don't ask that he "stand toe to toe" or fight in a manner to put himself at a disadvantage or anything. I think that Floyd has rarely been put under pressure to perform at his best, hopefully one of these days we'll see that. Hopefully some day we'll see someone push Floyd to the breaking point, not so we can see Floyd fail but so we can see who he really is in the ring. Pressure like that can bust pipes or it can create diamonds...no matter what fans may think of Floyd and Floyd's attitude, they all know he's skilled, but they want to see him tested and they want him to prove he's worthy enough to call himself "The Greatest", if he never takes a risk he will never be considered "The Greatest" no matter what he or his fans say about it. Floyd is in the Prime of his career, he may have 3-4 good years left, he can prove a lot in that amount of time, I hope he does, but I doubt he will.
