One that sticks is Holyfield during the 2nd round of 1st fight w/Bowe.Things got gritty, sat down and tried to play power game the rest of the way.....Conn slugging with Louis with a win right around the corner.

Meldrick Taylor's whole career....he had the fastest hands, he could have been a very slick boxer and been very successful, but nope, his pride got the best of him

Going toe to toe was Hearns style.

    - Leslie lubaczewski trusting and believing that Trainer Monkey's strategies (with no experience whatsoever in boxing) was the man of the situation and trusting him repeatedly 4 consecutive times, each one ending by a brutal k.o and a brutal stoppage.

    - Tyson simply going forward on Lewis with the sole intention of killing him when he should have had a much better plan for such a beast.

    - Hatton laughing at the drills that Roach did teach to Manny was quite funny too but that's more fate irony than strategy backfiring though.

I have to say Hearns going toe-to-toe was a bad idea and especially Hatton trying to be a slick Mayweatherish fighter.

Oh yeah I was about to type Meldrick Taylor but saw your post. He had to be a philly fighter instead of using his natural abilities. As explained by the Legendary Nights HBO series. What happened was that he became a shot fighter in his 20s.
