I'm sure that responsiblity falls on more then just the trainer I'm sure there are plenty of people there to break down film who are just as competent without the title. Besides, this really isn't anything new to Cotto, while Evangalista would organize camp, he wasn't really his trainer. They very rarely spoke to each other in training and I'm sure my man Macho will back this up, that Cotto was essentially training himself in Puerto Rico especially after the Evangalista/Jose incident.

Cotto has been one of the most consistently fight smarters for the better part of his career and with the exception of one little miscalculation (and loaded gloves), he has been perfect and has always fought great including his *loss.

Fcken Margarito ruined what could be a DREAM situation with undefeated Mayweather, Cotto, Pacquiao and potentially Paul Williams. Oh well.

Oh yeah, Omar Henry. It seems there is an Omar Henry topic every 3 months which is a bit unusual, we actually just had one the other day.

I think Freddie Roach did a genius job picking Shawn Porter to emulate Cotto in sparring. Porter's style is very much like Cotto's but Porter is bigger, faster, stronger, and more relentless. Porter has an extensive amateur career of over 200 wins and only about 10 losses fighting mainly at 165lbs. so he has all the tools that come with experience at the top level. If Pacquiao can hold his own with Porter in sparring then he will be well prepared for the Cotto fight. I used to think Cotto would win this fight but Roach has proven to me once again that he knows all the tricks and tactics to give his fighter the best chance at winning. If Pac does well against Porter or learns to during training camp then Pac will be ready for anything Cotto has to offer.

Early report have it that Shawn Porter gave Manny 3 tough rounds of sparring. The 21 year old is fast and very strong. Pacquiao should wave the customary $1K bonus for knocking him down during any of their sparring at camp! Seems like Shawn is poised to easily have a few of these bonuses, if he lays enough leather...

Antillon is the other guy in camp sparring with Pac for his preparation for the Miguel Cotto mega-date. Meanwhile in Cali, Rodela and a Puerto Rican, by the name of Serrano are on standby once the segment of the preparations swings over stateside after the 5th week.

It has yet to be decided though, if they will scrap the Wild Card Gym segment altogether and just opt for resumption of training in Las Vegas. The reasoning is to avoid too many disruptions in the flow, due to moving into new camps.
