You never know, maybe subconsciously he did get the idea from Rocky, but I'm sure it wasn't new when Stallone used it.

The Rocky films are great for what they intended. I love em. 4,3,1,2 for me. 5 and the most recent one don't even count as Rocky films.

I ALWAYS wanted to see Rocky get KTFO. I think the only one where I even vaguely rooted for him was the 5th film. At least Tarver apparently knocked Stallone out cold filming the 6th film, it cheers me to know at least off-camera Stallone caught one

Yeah, but then they ruined it by him making a comeback & winning. If instead Rocky had retired, then made a comeback against a gimme opponent only to get beat again, before developing a major drink problem & getting sent to Graterford Penn for beatin on Adrian, then I would have been happy
