If Evander got a shot against Vitali I'd honestly fear for his life. I hope they never sanction that fight, it would be a travesty of irresponsibility Holyfield would get absolutely slaughtered and beaten down bad for several rounds.

Good point about the over all experience factor.Rahman and Peter had much but gave themselves little chance of winning plus Rahman was spent goods.The older guys are being recycled on name value and Holyfield at this point belongs no where near a championship ring.Wlad is riding an impressive high but chins dont become thicker with age,his last couple foes have just fallen into a hypnotic state at the end of that stick...sort of excepted their fates willingly.Father time may get to Vitali before a on par opponent does but all you can do is say job well done.Arreola was a very credible threat going in reduced to a gutsy catcher.Well theres always an in shape Toney .

As much as I hate to admit it, there is a part of me that wonders how Holyfield would take a punch from Wlad or Vitali. Evander has taken shots from: Tyson, Bowe, Lewis, and George Foreman but I think at least Wladimir would be about the most dangerous opponent for Holyfield considering the sharpness and power of Wlad's punches and considering Evander's age.....if Evander allows Vitali to sit on his punches then that's going to be difficult as well.

I'm kind of glad to see Shannon Briggs back though....not that I like him but I do enjoy seeing him KO'd and then scrambling for excuses....Walking Pneumonia my ass! But of course now Briggs wants to fight Vitali...why Maybe because Vitali likes keeping his hands down, maybe because Briggs is a big guy....either way #1 Shannon has to fight his way back up to the top again and #2 Either brother will whip his ass if someone else doesn't do it first

I would fear for Evanders life if he fought the Klitchkos.

Some might think I am being over dramatic but with Evanders toughness and the Klitchkos punch power I can imagine Evander taken a long beating over 9 or 10 rounds before he goes down.Evander was not hard to hit i his prime so he would take lots of hard shots.

At his age this could lead to serious head injury .

If the WBC let this happen they will lose what little credibility they have got.

Holyfield is one of my favorite fighter's. I used to love watching him fight but since his recent return I just shake my head and get disappointed. I get mad at the organizations and I get mad at him. He should sit down watch himself in his recent outings and compare them to his earlier fights and hopefully he will say damn I am less than a shadow of my former self and retire.

Good post. I guess maybe it would be better if the contenders fight eachother rather than looking for the big pay-offs and fighting the Klitschko's.

David doesn't want to fight the Klitschko's and probably for good reason because he would be destroyed. One fight I would look forward to is a fight between David Haye and Cris Arreola.

Holyfield is my favorite fighter and if the Vitali fight is made, I´ll stop watching boxing.
Then again, when the Holyfield-Valouev fight was made, I thought Sauerland was the most callous man in the world. Valouev even said initially that he wouldn´t accept that fight. And I said I would stop watching boxing. But went ahead and watched anyway and what do you know, Holyfield won the fight! (sort of)
So if the fight is made, I guess we can´t count him out to beat Vit....no wait....I´ll stop watching boxing.

I will join the bandwaggon and say I will feel physically ill if i hear that evander has been given a shot against vitali. I dont want to see that. Evander use to be one of my favourites and I dont want to see him killed in the ring, taking shots from guys like tyson, lewis, bowe etc all take a toll and i dont want to see if he can take vitalis.

Evander is sadly off his trolley, thinking he can be the reigning undisputed champion once again; He has two towers of 6.7 and of pure muscle to out manoeuvre and if he couldn't beat Chris Byrd, he won't pass these two. As it has been stated before, it would be highly dangerous for his life to fight these two, especially because he would probably say after the fight that he doesn't retire, that he'll never quit and that he'll make it somehow. Can someone tell me who's delivering the licenses to fight? BEcause I really don't get how un-human these peoples are to let him still fight.

Devil's Advocate here: Let him fight Vitali. I think he might surprise everyone. If he gets killed in the process, maybe they will actually do something about fighters staying too long in the ring. Either way it will be interesting.

I'm with everyone else here, I think Evander takes a ferocious beating against either Klitschko.

The sad thing is, he WILL get sanctioned, just based on the fact that he was relatively compeditive with Valuev.
