Vitali wins, and everyone says Lewis is 39+ and has not had a fight for two years plus.

Vitali is a lot better of, trying to avenge his other defeat to Mr Byrd, that would gain him real creditability, not to mention Lewis' now vacant World Crown.
Yes, since Vitali was smashing Byrd before the stoppage because of his rotator cuff injury, he will easily defeat Byrd in a remtach, no questions asked. If younger brother Wlad could embarass Byrd, then Vitali would just humiliate him. That being said, Vitali most definately needs to fight Byrd...only if Don King allows it, since Byrd is in Kings pocket. Logically, King knows Byrd doesnt really stand a chance so I doubt he will let that fight happen easy.
You are right it would also give Vitali the opportunity to start to put his reputation for quitting fights, when the going gets tough, to bed.
"quitting fights"? Once has this happened and with a good excuse. Agony which is caused by a torn rotator is probably a pain very unfamiliar to you. Going 10 rounds in such pain and still dominating the fight should at the least hint you something. Second, why would you risk your career over a fight that barely makes you break a sweat?
