OK, so how would today's Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight the Felix 'Tito' Trinidad of yesteryear?
I think Floyd would catch a beat down, Tito was a huge welterweight, he had a decent jab, a powerful right cross and an above average left hook....hell an old De la Hoya damn near beat Floyd, a PRIME Trinidad surely would have beaten him
I've always felt Tito was vastly overrated, & with the suspicions about his handwraps, I just don't know. Even though there's a big size difference, I look at what Oscar, Winky & B-Hop did (although all were obviously bigger) & I think that Mayweather pot-shots him to a wide UD. I also never saw how people saw ODLH winning. Even giving him every round where he did something, you can't come up with more than five in his favour for me. I thought it was a typical Oscar fight, where the HBO commentary team made it far closer or far more favourable to Oscar than it actually was (see Oscar-Shane I & II, Oscar-B-Hop, Oscar-Whitaker, even the Sturm & Forbes fights).
Although the Featherweight Mayweather vs Tito doesn't even bare thinking about.
* Btw Bruce, writing 3 posts in a row about VD is what seems like internet stalker behaviour.
floyd and tito pretty much put in the exact same performances in beating hoya.
They were both getting beat to the punch early on but both eventually went on to win rounds 8-12 which ultimately gave them both 115-113 wins. Neither put in there best performances above de la hoya because the occasion warranted cautious approaches rather than either man becoming over zealous and allowing oscar to get the upper hand.
Im talking about the trinidad that whopped whittaker, camacho, carr and the floyd who did similar to hatton, marquez and judah.
Trinidad would have the superior jab while floyd would probably have the faster hands and foot movement.
Power wise id have to go with trinidad while floyd would probably have better tactics and be able to dodge a big trinidad right much better than anyone else ever has...

I say Floyd outclasses him. Just too fast, too clever. Tito didn't deal well with speed, look at what Oscar did to him (one of the biggest robberies I've ever seen).
Mayweather never fights real welterweights, let alone Trinidad.
