Obama was the best by far of the last 4 candidates to the USA presidency but... well, I do not see at all what he did to deserve it... yet. IF he solves the Afghan problem or the crisis between Israel and Palestine, maybe then we could consider him. Till then... it is just ludicrous.

He got rid of Bush.

Fucking ridiculous, clearly some people are pandering for something.
So his first eleven days in office were so momentous in restoring hope and peace to humanity that he gets awarded the Nobel Prize.
This is utter utter bollocks. Why not lets give David Cameron a Nobel Prize, because even though he's not yet in office he did give a speech this week where he said under him the Conservatives would end child poverty and that in future the poorest children will go to the best schools, not the worst.
How could they not get behind that kind of heartwarming sentiment? He HAS to be favourite for next year's award.
Seriously fuck the Norwegiens......
Judge a man AFTER his reign, not before you pandering fucktards.
This looks a little political. They should have at least waited till he failed to fix the Palestine-Israel situation before they gave it to him.
"Not being as aggressive as George W Bush" is not the standard by which the Nobel should be awarded, although to be fair it's an understandable sentiment from the Nobel people.
Plus he's an American President. The Nobel committee now have to hope he can go potentially seven plus years without invading somebody, an almost impossible-to-imagine scenario.
....I hear Obama is now in the running for the Heisman Trophy and if he plays his cards right a Golden Globe.
I wonder if Kanye West will insist that Beyonce or himself deserved the Nobel Peace Prize and interrupt Obama's acceptance speech?
This HAS to be embarassing for Obama, surely he doesn't feel he's done anything to earn it....he must have a rough time sitting down with how chapped his ass must be from everyone kissing it.
I think maybe herein lied the motivation. Rather than an award for outstanding services rendered he has has been given an award thay that basically says ' This is what we expect from you....'.
He's now been lifted up as a paragon of peace and virtue and has been in told in no uncertain terms what the world expects from him.
It seems that by awarding him for things he has not yet done, they are very much trying to 'direct' him towards the kind of political and international policies that they themselves wish him to undertake.
It's all very self serving imo, and Barak must surely now feel under some pressure of obligation to perform.....
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
