Did that muthafukka say 116-116?

lopez wouldn't have gone the distance if that was marquez or vasquez in there.
caballero seems more dangerous now.

He's 26-13, but more importantly for the WBO he's not going to generate much in the way of sanctioning fees. I'm guessing people like Bernard Dunne are going to suddenly find themselves in contention for a fight for the vacant belt. Maybe a bit too soon for Bernard but there's got to be somebody somewhere who sells tickets they can go for.

Forgot all about this.Don't know how.So Lopez had to earn it?Sounds like Mtagwas cell will be ringing alot for another glossy prospect type but no mark is he!Lopez not worthy of an abbreviated catchy name yet.Less shine, more work.

i don't see why they would, it's not like Mtagwa was robbed, he bounced back well and ALMOST had Juanma out of there but i had Lopez winning by 2 points, Juanma imo won most of the early rounds and then the second half was back and forth, both scored 10-8 rnds on my card so that cancels each other's out, it was a close fight but nowhere close to robbery

Well, nowhere did I say it was a robbery have another look, I said the WBO should give Mtagwa the belt. Lopez edged it by a point I think for me, although that's off mental scoring, but I felt Mtagwa was the guy who comes away with the credit. He gave a guy many consider P4P material (he was #15 on our last list) the fight of his life. Seeing as Lopez is jumping out of the weight-class, I think Mtagwa should get given the belt
But seriously, he should get to be in the eliminator for the vacant belt. For me, a judge scoring that 116-111 was always giving it to Lopez. It also seems Arum is going to protect Juanma from any real threat till Gamboa.
Caballero's Promoter: "No Juanma Offer Ever Made" - Boxing News
Guarantee he fights Luevano & decisions him, Luevano hasn't got the heart or chin to do what Mtagwa did. I have a lot of respect for how Juanma held out in the last round, but he got the benefit of a lot in there (not enough for Arum though). It was a bullshiit KD, & he was allowed to do a lot of 'resting' in there without the ref breaking it up. If Mtagwa was out on his feet, he wouldn't have got the same help. I do hope Juanma batters either Luevano or Rojas, as a Gamboa fight would be great, & he's an exciting fighter & also seems a cool guy. But, maybe we were all premature calling him a future P4P #1

alright fair enough, but yea i agree, if Juanma moves up (which he should, aside from Caballero and a Mtagwa rematch, what's left in that division?) that Mtagwa should get a shot at the vacant title
IMO Juanma did tend to fight a dumb fight for most the fight, he was hell-bent on taking Mtagwa out, and when his punches didn't phase him well he continued to try and batter him, taking a lot of punishment in the process, i think he'd do better in a rematch though, and there's no excuse why not to take one, as for the holding, both fighters used dirty tactics, Mtagwa used his head a lot (and i don't mean his brain lol) and punched after the bell on a few occasions, same as Lopez was holding too much

I was more thinking of when Lopez would try to delay the fight complaining or taking his time between the ropes, it just struck me on a number of occasions that he wanted out of there. Both guys were dirty, but I thought there were a couple of occasions the ref was in Mtagwa's way when he was punching. I actually really like Lopez, I think he didn't fight smart & he would probably be more composed.
I don't buy the 'I can't get myself up for these crappy fighters' thing he said afterwards, the best are on point regardless of the quality of the opposition & hopefully this will teach Lopez that & to be wary of any opponent. There won't be a rematch for one reason - Bob Arum is the biggest piece of shit in boxing. If Mtagwa had KO'd him, I'm convinced the old fucker would have found some way to get it overturned.
