When I read your post I laughed for like a minute straight! Mallinaggi Dude seriously?? Mallinaggi? Whether he won or not against Diaz doesnt matter, Malli freakin naggi? He's beaten no notable fighter his entire career, couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper sack and you want him to go agaisn't arguably the best fighter in the world?? Oh And I can just see Mayweather wanting to fight such a PPV draw like Mallinaggi!

lol at levi#1BoxingFan, ha what a moron

Anyway I believe Floyd's next fight will be against Miguel Cotto in the spring.

I know most seem to think Cotto is practically a gimme for Manny Pacquaio but I honestly believe he will batter the living shit out of him and finish him inside the distance.

For me Cotto wins inside 8 maybe inside 4 if he lands early.

I think Miguel will look awesome and then everyone will be chomping at the bit for a Cotto Mayweather fight.

Mayweather will shit his pants, no way would he fight a real dangerous welter. Especially if he batters Pac like you state. the closer the fight and the more they take out of each other will give Floyd the courage to take the fight.

I think Jaz is right here. It's not like Floyd has a lot of options, to sell a big PPV he needs a credible name opponent and there's only Manny and Shane, or Cotto and Shane if Cotto wins. I think Floyd and Manny will agree on 50-50 of the biggest potential pot out there and fight.

Nah I totally disagree with you on this, and JT will back me up 100 percent on this.

Floyd is an excellent businessman, shrewd and street smart and he's carefully managed his career but he's in no way a coward.

If Cotto did a highlight job on Manny I guarantee Floyd would get that fight made. He would want a super shit load of cash for sure but he would make that fight.

Look at his resume, he may have avoided certain people who at that time appeared dangerous, (Margarito, Mosely etc) but it's been because he's been chasing the big paydays.

You can't move from superfeatherweight all the way to junior middleweight without taking serious risks and despite his reputation for handpicking opponents there isn't a fighter in the world with a better resume than him.

He fought Coralles, he rematched Castillo after he had already beaten him because some people didn't like the result, he went up to 154 to fight Oscar in his own weight class and say what you like about Hatton and Marquez being smaller men, nobody can deny they were top 10 ranked fighters and the undisputed champs in their own weight classes.

If the money is there Floyd will fight Manny, Mosely or Cotto, doesn't matter to him, being greedy isn't the same as being yellow.

cotto won't be destroying shit. that's severely overrating his basic skillset.

pacquiao's gonna win this one convincingly.

So let me get this straight Bilbo.... you say Cotto beats Pacquiao inside 4 rounds and im the moron...... riiiiight! Tell me oh ignorant one of the shire, whens the last time you even saw Pacquiao knocked down? What your doing is called wishful thinking. It will be competitive, but to say Cotto stops Pacquiao in 4 rounds is the most ubsurd thing ive ever heard. Cotto is great but he didn't even stop jennings in 4 rounds and you expect him to KO the greatest fighter in the world under 4. At least my mistake was an honest one, you just lack common sense or a brain for that matter!

You should have laughed as it was meant to be funny.

I was taking the mickey out of Mayweather's propensity to hand pick. Like Bilbo has said, Mayweather has a quality resume, but he also has his share of questionable fights. Fighting Judah on the back of a loss and only then going on to face the almighty Baldmomir, fighting a 135 pounder in a WW fight and who exactly did Mayweather fight at JWW?

The man has skills, but that is why I want to see him close his mouth and actually fight the opponents people want him to.

I'm watching again Cotto's fights and the more I watch his fights again and again, the more convinced I am that Pac is in dangerous waters.

Cotto is an excellent counterpuncher, has power, bigger than Pac, footspeed is better than average ( better than Mosley), and more importantly, an intelligent fighter who could change stance. Whew.

I'm afraid Bilbo is right. Cotto could win inside 4 if Pac underestimate him.

One thing that I stated before and that I will say again: I am not sure who will win between Cotto-Pacman but 3 things make it even more intriguing to me:

    1) Cotto has a devastating body puch, something that can shake off your ancesters back in their graveyards. Pacman has been stopped 2 times via body punches... long time ago, maybe, but it did happen and now he has to fight my body punch.

2)Cotto made a strange choice about his trainer, hiring his nutritionist.... being a mastermind in sociology doesn't make you a skyrocket in science, I am not sure at all that is enough when you have such a dangerous opponent with a 5 stars coach like Roach behind.

    3) How well did Cotto recovered from his lost to loadedrito?

I didn't say Cotto beats Manny inside 4 rounds, I said he MIGHT if he lands early. He blew Quintana away in quick time, he battered the shit out of Alfonso Gomez.

Cotto has been fighting far far better competition in an absolute sense than Manny has. You stick David Diaz, Ricky Hatton and a 147 lb Oscar in with Antonio Margarito, Joshua Clottey and Shane Mosely and they are all getting mashed up.

Manny went life and death with Marquez twice, most people thinking Marquez won those fights and Marqeuz didn't win a single round against Floyd, he was embarrassed as much as Jeff Lacy was against Calzaghe.

Cotto is a HUGE step up from a past it, and never that great Ricky Hatton, and a completely weight drained and shot Oscar.

Manny is in for the fight of his life.

I'd love to see Manny do it, he's a superstar and a fantastic fighter, but Cotto is a great fighter in his own right, and will imo be too big and too strong for Manny.

Yes Manny has speed, but Cotto isn't slow, he went in and beat Shane Mosely after all, and speed aside Manny is outgunned in every other attribute.

I think a lot of people will make some smart money on Cotto ending Manny inside the distance.

Cotto is aggressive, and if he hurts Manny he won't let him off the hook.

In 2010 Cotto vs Mayweather will be THE fight the fans want.

Pacquiao's gonna massacre Cotto. He mentally won't deal with what Pacquiao is going to be dishing out to him. it's not gonna be a good night for Miguel Cotto fans. If Cotto somehow beats Pacquiao I will be more then shocked. But Pacquiao is gonna stop him late. I've said why about 10 times already but I can't see how anyone can look at Cotto's recent performances and think he has a shot against Pacquiao, he mentally folds when under pressure nowadays, the faith that he could stay because he'd stop them late with his power and overcome was broken when he lost to Margarito, and even if it had been a little restored by a fake confidence because of the handwrap controversy it was shattered again when Clottey started pressuring and hurting him. Cotto had that look in his eyes like "not again" had clottey nto taken the gas off the peddle then he would have stopped Cotto as well. Cotto got time to regain some composure and do enough to win the late rounds, but the fiery Cotto that would go through any lengths to stop someone because he knew he could, was gone, Clottey just didn't pour it on late and Cotto got time to rest and get by.

Pacquiao won't give Cotto ANY chance to regain his confidence. Once Cotto is discouraged, it's over and he is done and will take punishment until its stopped. Boxing is more mental then physical, and Cotto mentally isn't the same fighter and at this point in his career he needs more then one tough fight back after what mentally scarred him in the Margarito fight. Pacquiao is gonna re-open that scar and implant a preferment memory in Cotto, and it's one he won't come back from. Not this fight.

Nope, if theres one thing that will pull manny thru the fight it is his iron will. Cotto has excellent skills but in several fights i've seen that oh s*** look on his face when he got into trouble. Loaded gloves or not all Cotto had to do to beat Margarito in those later rounds was bob weave, get in get out, instead he tried to slug it out (which takes strong will) but it takes an iron will to get up when your knocked down. If it turns to a slug fest Pacquiao comes out on top. No one ever said Hatton wasnt that good until Manny obliterated him, all I heard for weeks was "Hatton is undefeated at 140, and too scrappy for Pacquiao". By the way I love Cotto, one of my favs but at the moment Pacquiao has been steam rollin fighters so im not gonna get off the train until someone can prove otherwise!

You mean fights against other top WW's? Cotto actually looked like he was in a fight? No kidding?

Saying that kinda reminds me of how pac looked against morrales in the first fight, or in against JMM in both fights...You mean that look?
