Good news...I followed Erdeis career since he became WBO champ and he is a good guy...the lack of quality opponents is a management problem...I think Erdie is willing to fight the best, but the best aren't that willing to fight Erdei or something llike that...Anyway Erdei is a small guy I don't know if its suits him to go up to cruiser, but we will see...

What?? Really??
I don't know if it's Erdei or his management team, but anyone who struggles with Hugo Garay is not fit to be in the same ring as Bernard Hopkins, Chad Dawson or Glen Johnson. Hell, probably not even Antonio Tarver.
About time Erdei actually fought someone with something approaching a pulse. Apart from Garay & Gonzalez, his opposition has been hideous. Makes Sven Ottke's resume look like Archie Moore's.

Yes...he struggled with Garay, but he won...styles make fights and apparently pressure fighters aren't Erdeis thing(I guess he would have even more problems with Johnson)...he is still a very slick and crafty boxer...I don't know if he can beat the guys you mentioned above, but he will give all of them a hard time and more importantly is willing to fight them...he is internationally unknown thats why he won't get a big name fight...money...

Sorry, I just don't buy that. Erdei has had many an opportunity to chase better fights, & I actually think he's a pretty good fighter. But his level of competition is a disgrace. He has a world title belt, many guys would chase that, yet they're ducking him?? Sorry mate, but it comes down to either Erdei himself or his promoters/management. He actually is internationally known - as the kind of fighter who is killing boxing, defending a belt & taking on now real challengers. Up until this point he has shown no willingness to test himself. I give him credit for stepping up & taking on Fragomeni, but this is after 5 years. I mean Paul Murdoch was a guy who'd never fought above tomato can level convincingly & he somehow got a shot at a world title![]()

I think if it would have gone Erdeis way he would have fought better opposition...at least we agree about the bad management of him...Erdei himself complained about it something like 1 1/2 year ago...that his management wouldn't give him better opposition(better known names),but he later backed off, apologising and saying that he wouldn't be where he is without his management...some time later it looked like Erdei would get his wish and fight Danny Green, who recently(at that time) won the light heavy title from Stipe Drews, but Green retired a bit later...

Johnny,
With all due respect, that's complete horseshit. Give us a little more credit than to serve us with that crap.
He is moving up to fight a 40 years old Fragomeni because it was getting to the point that he was going to be forced to fight someone noteworthy at light heavyweight and his promoters didn't want to give up their cash cow.
Erdei is as faceless as ANY champion of the last ten years. He is in a marquee division and no one outside of Berlin has any idea who he is. He is a decent talent. Nothing more, nothing less. His promoters aren't stupid - Why did he fight DeAndrey Abron when there are fighters out there like Glen Johnson, Adrian Diaconu, Jean Pascal, Chad Dawson, Yusaf Mack, or even Chris Henry? Any of those guys would fight for a pittance for the chance at the WBO belt.
Go ahead and blame his promoters, but it isn't their boxing legacy that's left when Erdei retires. It's Erdei's. He had five years as light heavyweight champion, more than enough time to do something about it and he didn't. At this point, his legacy is completely and utterly irrelevant.

Okay...I will sum up for you guys what I think about Erdei so there won't be any misunderstandings...
-Erdeis resume is crap...no doubt about that...
-Erdeis management wants to play it save, while Erdei is willing to fight quality opposition...
-Erdei should years ago make a management change, but apparently its not so easy to get out of a Universum contract(asked the Klitschkos or Sturm eg.)and now its more or less too late...
-Erdei is a very talented boxer, who will give anyone(I don't care that most of you will disagree there)a hard time at lhw...
-its propably a mistake for Erdei to go up to cruiser...
So before you all start to piss on me again you will see that we actually agree on most of the stuff regarding Erdei...
