I think Roach is concerned about the job Cotto will do to Manny's body than actual low blows. The fact of the matter is that those committed to a body attack often stray low and for Cotto, those rare instances have been UNINTENTIONAL. By Roach calling attention to it, he will make the referee focus on it more than he should, thereby possibly causing warnings, which may cause Cotto to be more tentative to the body, or a point deduction. Roach seems to figure that there's no way Manny is going to KO Cotto, so every point they can get for a decision is important. A fight that goes the distance is bad for Cotto because Manny will often flurry and the fight will be fought at such a fast pace that it will be difficult for the judges to see a clear cut winner. Manny and his people are hoping to survive because ANY win, whether legitimate or controversial will guarantee a big payday against Mayweather.
