How can you say that about him as a trainer? His only real fighter of note is Haye and whether or not you like him or not he was undisputed Cruiserweight champ. Now even if Haye had the natural ability of Ali (which he doesn't) he would still need good direction to become the best in the world of a whole division and he got that direction off Booth.
I myself have questioned whether Booth is "World Class" in the terms of a Manny Steward or Angelo Dundee but to say he doesn't know what he's doing as a trainer at all is a bit off IMO!
...you don't need the natural ability of Ali to be champ at cruiserweight. Haye was a BIG cruiserweight and he was able to bully those boys in that division (for the most part).
I just think Haye's style is all wrong, I think he should be putting his punches together and not loading up on shots....if he's loading up on shots at heavyweight he'll land his fair share but he'll also get picked apart by the bigger better boxers and he'll get the shit countered out of him one day.
That may be David's own personal style, but it's Booth's job as a trainer to keep Haye's flaws at a minimum. I think Haye will be hindered by Adam Booth or just by Booth's inexperience as a trainer very soon. Booth has already fucked up Haye's heavyweight career quite a bit by losing him a couple of world title shots vs the BEST of the division in what could have been the closest thing to a Megafight for the heavyweight division at this day in time.
I think Freddy Roach or Ronnie Shields could turn Haye into a more dangerous fighter
