Cant see Mutley winning it to be honest, havent seen the footage but apparently he was KTFO in spectacualr style on the Froch card by some eastern European bin man!!
Im going for a Barnes/Rees final if they dont meet before.

These Prizefighter's are really getting interesting now - Rees wins!

Great to see these lineups getting stronger and stronger
Would love to see a guaranteed title shot on offer to the winner of these tournaments
Would not only make the comp that little bit more interesting but would bring in fans of the prizefighter series to domestic boxing more!

I agree, this is the best line up so far. I used to rate Mutley at this level but he's gone downhill and if that's the case he was Ko'd on the weekend he can forget winning this. I can't see Gavin Rees winning it, he's not a big puncher to get fights finished early and fights he is involved in he loses a lot of rounds.
I'd probably go for David Barnes but I think Jason Cook is a dark horse here. He's taking his boxing seriously since coming out of retirement and can KO fighters at domestic level. Plus I'm biased cos he's local to me and is a nice fella lol.

Yes just checking out the guy who knocked Mutley out doesnt look good the guy cant usuallly crack an egg and has lost against all the domestic fighters in and around 140 in the last couple of years in mostly shut outs, fighters like Lenny Daws, Lee Mcalister and Ajose Olusegan have all beaton him it seems pretty easily, so would love to know what was the matter with Mutley cos like i say the guy cant usally crack an egg and from reports it was one of the knockouts of the year quiter a bad one for Mutley.

I'd rather see the tournament include either 4 or 5 round fights too. 3 isn't enough for me, a lot of fighters take a while to warm up and get beat by lesser fighters because of it. It may be asking a lot when you potentially could fight 12 -15 rounds in a night so maybe they could increase the prize money?

21 rounds of boxing is plenty to decide the winner. The reason the heavyweight division is the best suited for prizefighter is that youve double the chance of a knockout at heavyweight than your 140pounders.
Most of these prizefighters that arent heavys/cruisers usually come down to who done the better work over the 3rounds rather than who actually got the KO. The simple thing would be to up the rounds per fight but that would just turn a sellable 2 hour contest into a 3 and a half hour card that will only appeal to your hardcore fan
I agree with you on barnes though, he and lynes have to start favourite!!

I think Rees will win this. Of his 14 KO wins, over half have come inside the first 3 rounds.
Prizefighter will suit his style and I see him winning this.
