pavlik brings so much to boxing he is like a ricky hatton, will always have the working class following him. i always thought pavlik was a pretty easy nights work for calzaghe. maybe we being a little harsh on him as stated earlier hopkins is not your average fighter he is a smart tough SOB & i stated b4 he fought hopkins that pavlik had nothing to gain from fighting him

I disagree, had Pavlik KO'd Hopkins he would have earned a great deal of respect.

Pavlik just fights in a bully style, he has slow hands, he rarely moves his head (but he has decent defense which makes up for that), his punches aren't sharp they are the Foreman-esque thudding power shots and some guys find that a lot easier to prepare for, for some odd reason.

I think Kelly has some bigger issues than boxing is all and I think he's feeling sorry for himself for losing to Hopkins that bad. Lots of fighters have battled drugs and alcohol outside the ring, Kelly isn't the first and he won't be the last...he just needs to chill out from boxing for a while and heal up mentally, physically, psychologically....he could return as a better fighter or he could just be happier away from the sport
