He's done.
The fact that Pavlik to my knowledge, hasnt done any interviews or said very much about his problems seems to have escalated the situation in the eyes of boxing fans. The silence is deafening and appears to me that his situation is looking pretty dire.

Pavlik hasn't fought so how can anyone know anything. Ruined from what being pitter patted by a guy who lost twice to a guy who's being ko'd by anyone that even looks at him ?? Let the guy fight first. People are shittin on a guy not willing to fight with a staff infection on his hand while Hopkins is healthy and ain't fought since. Maybe he should be labeled ruined or something. Besides no 1 contender. What a joke

I think that Pavlik's situation is not what it seems at the moment because it is a conjecture of many things:
1) a bad injury with a treatment that almost killed him.
2) a few dubious antics outside the ring.
3) a loopsided defeat against Hopkins.
What peoples tend to say now is that after his defeat to Hopkins, Pavlik is spiraling down, started to drink, fighting outside the ring and that he'll never recover from the injury. To me, these are 3 separated things; The injury and treatment he has that almost killed him have nothing to do with his defeat to Hopkins. His antics outside the ring possibly neither, maybe te guy was drinking here and here before the defeat and it's only because we've heard about it now that peoples are making these assumptions.
It is clearly too soon to say anything about that and we'll only have a definitive answer when Pavlik will have fought at least 2 more times against meaningful opponents.

That's the way it is, not the way it ends

Pavliks going to have a hard time getting that momentum back
The middles don't have any stars
If he could get Sturm in the ring & pound him he'd gain back a measure of respect
Winky might be the biggest fight out there for him
Unless he steps up & fights the winner of Bute-Andrade
