He is awkward, and looks like he should be in UFC instead of a boxing ring. We all know froch is a joke and lost the first fight. Taylor likely wont even remain in the tourny. Dirrell is a little too inexperienced. He is fast and gifted but just doesnt have the ring experience to win it. He has a lot to learn even though he probably won every round and was robbed vs Froch.

    Thoughts?
What makes you say that? I've been impressed with Abraham for some time now.

I say that because he is as slow as molasses, he lacks an effective jab,his hooks are wide and looping, and when he throws them he is open for counters all day long. He just looks plain unnatural in the ring. If he fights outside of Germany agaisnt anyone in this comp besides froch he'll lose.

Calzaghe lacked power and overcame Kessler. Kessler is now more mature and Ward is neither as good nor as experinced as Joe. Having said that I'm looking forward to their fight next month!
Your right. That was more a general, over the whole tournie look at ward. Joe compensated for the lack of power with an insurmountable volume of punchers from all different angles, which maybe only Williams can get close to replicating. Ward doesn't have that either. So on that note, i'm gonna soley go with Kessler.

    Okay...
-AA isn't slower than the average super middle,I'm not saying he is fast, but he definitely not as slow as you make him...
-he was very effective with his jab against Taylor...throwing less than Taylor, but connecting more(at least thats what showtime said)and pushing Taylor every time back...not effective ...
-the way he throws his punches is awkward, but till this day nobody figured it out how to counter this...
-you make it sound that he would have lost to Taylor if he had fought him in the US instead of Germany and of course if he wouldn't have knocked him out...again ...

His jab is crap. One thing Taylor never has figured out how to do is keep his left hand up. Taylor has been done since hopkins, because he left the guy that got him there and hasnt been the same since. He cant push himself and Ozell wont push him. Taylor doesnt have it mentally or endurance wise anymore. I never once said that Taylor would have beat AA in the U.S. Now had this been a younger version of Taylor (Pre Hopkins) He would have beat the holy crap out of AA. Also AA didnt connect on half of what showtime said he did and were clearly biased the whole fight. I pretty much knew though no matter how Taylor performed in the first half he would fade down the stretch and it didnt surprise me. Pretty much anybody that can go 12 rounds will beat Taylor present time. Plain and simple. AA still isnt very good.

Pavlick blows, and i think his career could very well be over. I think he has more than staff or hand issues or whatever the crap he has. I think he had trouble handling the spotlight and bein on top, and he went down in a hurry. Not everybody can handle bein on top. What im sayin is i think theres more than what meets the eye to his whole situation.

that's now, but Pavlik was already prairie doggin at the thought of having to fight Abraham waaaaaaay before Hopkins beat his ass, and still he's not too bad if he beat Taylor twice, being the first guy to beat him, period

Well...I guess we have to agree to disagree...I think either Kessler or Abraham will win this tournament...

One thing is for certain. Froch is the worst 26-0 fighter i've ever seen. He is horrible.

Kessler or abraham. I am going to go with kessler, most all around skill in one package out of the bunch. Abraham has immense power and some good defensive skills, so he could take it too cause he can knock anyone out in this tournament. I don't understand how someone can say abraham sucks...you might argue his skills arent the greatest, which I would disagree with too, but the man has a fuckin iron chin and huge heart, boxing is more than just skill...plenty of better skilled boxers have lost to lesser skilled ones...

Ah! I would suspect Ward will fight at home even if he should finish fourth.
People are blowing this Andre Ward home advantage waaay out of proportion. He has a home field advantage versus Kessler in Oakland. The other two fights scheduled for him are against other Americans, he's not going to travel out of his country but he still won't be fighting in his backyard. Fighting in the south against Jermain Taylor and in the midwest against Andre Dirrell is not Andre Ward fighting at home for 3 fights. It's good he got Kessler at home, that was most important I think he can get by on the road against the other guys. Froch got a fight in his backyard against an American, a gift from the Gods and it paid off for him. I really doubt Andre Ward is going to have a more home advantage then Froch has already received.

I say Ward wins it, I do think Kessler to be the most well rounded fihter in the tournament but I think Ward can frustrate him enough with his feet and with a higher punch output to get the decision. I also believe these are the two best boxers in the tournament but I think Abraham has a chance to beat either of them on any given night. I am looking forward to this sooooo much.
