    good joke.

he cant get much better. he has a lot of flaws.

he will have to move up soon and by then he will be fighting top fighters and they all have the style advantage over him.
i disagree, at his best he can take any of the top welters. he can get better, by gaining more confidence and experience.
to all posters if you cannot explain how a fighter can get better dont post.

you are assuming and thinking he must be able to get better thats it.
he can get a little better, which top welter could he beat? not mosley, judah, margarito, oscar, not forrest or spinks if they fight here either

Name a boxer at his level that does NOT have flaws or for that matter name a boxer that does NOT have flaws?
Every boxer has flaws, it's what they make of it, it's what they do to try and correct it or even master something that can cancel out their flaw or make it difficult to take adavantage of their flaw.
Cotto like any other prospect has more to learn. He will gain more knowledge about himself as a boxer with tougher and tougher opponent's. He can only get better.
he cant become much better because of his stance
he puts 80% of his weight on his front foot
all anyone would have to do to beat him is punch and turn and he would never get any shots off
his height and the way he fights arent going to help him moving up and not to mention his suspect chin
he will end up being a top-level guy who cant beat any other top level fighters.
    i feel you,
he doesnt seem to keep his hands up enough to lean foreward,
and he doesnt "random shot" it up

maybee oscar is old enough to slip up,
that would be some crazy shit,
but yea, he cant beat those other guys now or ever

corley was able to outbox him somewhat
Corely was able to outbox him? If you say so. It was like any other Cotto fight he takes his time, moves side to side, pick's his shot's, of course he gets hit the opponent will take advantage of this style. But that Corely outboxed Cotto one can argue that statement he probably did in a couple of round's BUT ultimately what matters is that the number in your record next to the WINS: moves one up and NOT in the LOSES:.

I've said it before and I'll say it again if they fought today Cotto vs. PBF or Hatton they would beat Cotto. Miguel is still a little green he still need's a couple of more fight's under his belt. I would hate to see happend to him what happend to Vargas, Anchondo, Bojado and thats take fights against people out of their league I like the way they are hadling his career Cotto is of a New Generation, one day he will be in the spot light against a champ but let's NOT get ahead and destroy what is the future of boxing. Give it time Cotto will be GREAT.

And to be honest with you I think in about 2-3 more fight's I could see him facing any of the top fighter's.

ok. I agree with you on that. you must be missing thw point.

what can he change to become better?

i told you the flaws in his style and also that he has bad style matchups against all top 147 lbers.

I think as far as change it would be I say he get's a new trainer the father/trainer does NOT work well into a career at the begining yeah! it works but it has to change. But as far as his style I've heard opinion's go both way's, some say good others say bad. You say it's bad thats your opinion, you say these top contenders can and will see his FLAWS, well the last time I checked Cotto is not blind, What? He can't see his opponent's FLAWS? Every boxer learn's something new everytime they step up in the ring. You mean to tell me Zab, Kostya, Hatton etc.. are flawless. Actually come to think of it. Can You name a FLAWLESS boxer You talked about his stands, for him to change his stands and other thing's I can asure you that another FLAW "as you call them" will turn out. If boxers didn't have FLAWS then we would have a lot of undefeated boxers cuz they would all be FLAWLESS. As I end many of my replys once I feel I've stated my case well.

    ONLY TIME WILL TELL...............

ok but where did i see anything about a flawless fighter?

i said he has more than other top fighters. that makes a huge difference. if you cant see that then i honestly dont know what to tell you.

he will never chance his stance because that will change his whole fighting style.

corley is an extremely talented fighter and former world champ, he even beat zab judah on one judges score card.
and cotto took it to him and floored him several times, nevermind the stoppage.

i dont remember all of the knockdowns but the one in the first was a slap on the side of his head and when he realized that corley was off balance he kind of pushed him
that fight was very controversial to me and corley deserves a rematch
cotto nearly almost got ktfo too

zab beat corley easily regardless of the judges
