Tough one.

Good clash of styles. Sonny had a tremendous jab, a real stiff punch which is quite overlooked nowadays when people talk about him. They focus on his intimidation, the power, the demenour, but really he was an accomplished boxer.

Frazier of course was the consumate warrior, never-say-die, keep coming, keep throwing the big left hook and trying to bang away. He was good at slipping the jab, he did it with the best jabber out there in Ali, and he perfected coming up from under it, exploding out of the crouch to launch his attacks.

It could go either way really, I mean prime Liston, at his devastating best, could conceivably push Joe around a bit and bust him up a la Foreman, but at the same time Joe fought at a faster pace, and could get him in the middle-late rounds.

Toss-up. I'd probably favour Joe, just because of his bobbing and weaving, and the fact that Liston was pretty upright with little head movement. Frazier by TKO in 10, or maybe UD
