I think Barrera can pull it off.
Barrera is one of the toughest SOBs in the sport and with the heart he has and a little desire he can do it.
    Lets go MAB.

    Lets go MAB.

    Lets hope so

Dont wanna see MAB take another hammering from a guy who 2-3 years back he would of whopped (just like khan)

Would love to see barrera do a Bhop and just keep on going, though the lower down divisions you go the more unlikely that is of happening due to the endurance factor!!

As long as Barrera doesnt get nutted seconds into the 1st round then he wont.

And theres a competent enough ref to realise the intent and disqualify the other man!!

Are you seriously trying to suggest Khan headbutted Barrera intentionally??

And are you really complaining about Dave Parris allowing the home fighter to use his head??

    Oh the irony.

I don't care if that butt was intentional or not. It was horrible and the fight should have been over there and then.

Barrera fought blind for multiple rounds and was being pot shotted by a damn amateur who still got shakey legs.

As long as there are no heads early Barrera can win this one.

It was Juan Diaz before the WBA decided to make him "super" champ. Obviously Marquez beat Diaz.

And obviously the WBA only split up the title to make more money out of it. So obviously it means shit. Like all alphabets.

Anyway.. Marquez is linear champ through beating Casamayor. So Barrera would need to beat him for "world champion" to mean anything.

Actually, Moses was WBA champion when they decided to make the Marquez vs. Diaz fight for the vacant WBA 'Super' Title purely because the vacant WBO belt was on the line. Marquez is only WBA champion because that organisation is full of shit.

I don't disagree, but it was clearly NOT intentional & a Hatton fan is in no position to complain about Parris allowing the home fighter to use his head.

i seriously think some people on here are thinking of the Barrera of yesteryear, cause IMO he's looked pretty much done since his comeback, i don't wanna see the guy take a beating cause he's one of the recent ATG's, and it'd be a damn tragedy if he was to be seriously injured due to last hopes of being in the spotlight

I'm with ElTerrible on this one. I don't see how Barrera is going to beat a fighter in his prime right now. Barrera looked like crap against Khan. With or without the cut, I didn't see the outcome being any different. He couldn't deal with the speed from the first bell. Can't stand Barrera anyway. The guy is a sore loser and has never taken a defeat like a man. I respect his accomplishments but I dislike him as a person.

As for this 1st Mexican to win 4 world titles in different weightclasses, if they hadn't robbed Morales against Diaz this wouldn't even be a discussion anymore.

Diaz was the champ when they decided to split the title - for the Freitas unification fight, and lost before the Marquez fight, so you're right he shouldn't have been champ, but neither would Moses be if it hadn't been split.

Yes.. the WBA along with all other alphabets are utter crap.

Lol whereas Morales acted with pure dignity after the 3rd Barrera fight.

both Morales and Barrera are famous for weak excuses as to why they loss, "he didn't come to fight" Morales after Raheem, "i wasn't up for the fight, i had an off night" Barrera about the first Pacquiao fight, they couldn't ever accept that they lost to the better guy that night, and it happened in almost every loss they've had, only fights that they made no excuse, Barrera after Junior Jones, and Morales after Pacquiao, and that's basically cause there's no way either could have complained, both bitch after a loss, so no difference

and in my defense i didn't say anything about Barrera's personality lol

it's just he's clearly past his best and well don't wanna see the guy getting hurt, same reason i'm against a Morales comeback

um you saw the last fight?
To be honest I don't want to see him go on because he has too much heart and guts. He has been so great and it would be the worst thing I could think of to see him get hurt. Not saying he wouldn't win this one but he would take confidence from a win into a bigger fight and there are only so many wars in a great fighter and anyone who is younger or more importantly fresher, who can go to war in the style of Barrera and Morales could end up hurting him. MAB has had too many wars for me!

Sad thing is i'd still pay to watch it.
