I think it was just the lack of attempt...

It was like playing with a fish on the end of your line being in full control, and never bothering to pull the thing into the boat...

It just appeared that he didn't want to hurt him or finish the fight with a knockout or anything... Was just content to win on the points..

But I get how people are saying it didn't help him.. For a guy who's reaching his peak where he can make the most money, win legacy building fights, etc etc, his mentality was not of a fighter wanting to take the scene by the nuts (to put it crudely).. And I think that's what people expect of a fighter of his age and position when he's got that opportunity in front of him...

Exactly. Where's the killer instinct? People want to compare him to Floyd, but at least Floyd eventually went after Marquez, and tried to finish him, (and yes, I would directly compare the two fights on the basis of fighters being outclassed); Dawson is too good to be that apprehensive to mix up or at least go on the offensive.

NOBODY wants to see someone just "survive" a fight when they're completely outclassing them.
