Last night's fight didn't do much to help Dawson...

Solid performance, but with as awful as Johnson looked, he really should have finished him...

The fact that he was able to hit Johnson so easily, but never really hurt him does no credit to Dawson at all. And worse than that, Dawson had Johnson completely figured out, and kept him from landing anything of consequence...and despite this, Dawson was content to let Johnson just keep coming forward all night, when it looked like Dawson could have just stepped it up and took him out.

And I get it, Dawson clearly won the fight, but if Johnson can show up tired and old and the fight still goes to the cards, then Dawson's elite status goes right out the window.

Elite fighters finish guys like that.

When you've got a fighter thoroughly beaten offensively and defensively, you go after him and finish the damn thing, not play it safe and let him pointlessly keep plodding forward, eating pot shots, occasionally landing the slick 3-5 punch combo's...

If Dawson is not going to be the guy that puts away the lesser fighters that the weak division just keeps throwing at him, what do we have to look forward too?

I agree in that Dawson didn't appear to have interest in trying. I don't think you can KO a guy like Johnson, but Chad seemed content in pitty-patting him. Johnson was never hurt and as huge a disparity there was between their defenses and offenses Dawson could have done a lot more.

I did like how Dawson had him looking 'awkward' a few times. It appeared as if Chad's combos could take him off balance and I think he could have at least produced a knock down, but again, he didn't seem interested in trying.

My problem with the commentating wasn't in how Harold Letterman scored it, but rather how in awe all 3 of them seemed to be at Dawson's ability.

All the quality Super middleweights are tied up for the next 18months in the super 6, RJJ has pretty much set his sights on danny green and Bhop will only take a fight for ridiculous amounts of dollars

Dont be surprised if we get served up dawson-johnson III

He's supposed to fight the winner of Diaconu-Pascal and I think it will answer a lot of questions as these 2 are very quick with an excellent punching power and load of aggression, Dawson sure has the skills to beat them but let's see if he has the killer instinct to do so.
