It's going on for years. All you have to do is google my predictions as far as 2006-2007 at esb. You'll find out why they are calling me Nostradamus.

My main demand if I'm getting out of bed at 3am to watch this is that it isn't an absolute snoozer....I've got great respect for both of the fighters, and I really hope they put on a spectacle that will be the career pinnacle for the winner and a noble defeat for the beaten man.

I think, as I have before if I'm honest that Pacquiao isn't big enough to compete strength-wise with the bigger man of Cotto, and that Cotto will land the more telling punches. But I was wrong before and I won't begrudge the Pacman if I'm wrong again!

from your previous post seems to me you're disagreeing on this one though. that cotto is no longer his older self.

past jennings and clottey, tell me as well, what's cotto's state now?
Well I think there are a lot of things to consider when you look at what Cotto was doing before the Margarito fight, he had been with his trainer Evangilista Cotto forever, he was undefeated, and we all know that 1st losses can be devistating to a fighter.

Since then Cotto fought Jennings who was a confidence builder for Miguel and Clottey was a very tough fight for him, but those guys are nothing like Pacquiao and those guys weren't dangerous. Cotto has been buzzed before, he's been dropped before, and he's been beaten up quite a bit, and in the Clottey fight he had to deal with a really bad cut, but he always fought back and that's the part I am hoping remains unchanged.

As I said before, if Pacquiao was to KO Miguel Cotto it would be more impressive than anything Floyd Mayweather Jr has done at 147.

I think Miguel is big, he's still roughly in his prime (I mean, if Cotto gets KO'd I think that puts him out of his prime, although it doesn't change what a big accomplishment it would be for Pacquiao) and Miguel is tough, Margarito maybe even with loaded gloves(we all figure he had them loaded) had to beat him up for 11 rounds to finally stop him!! I think Miguel Cotto is fresh enough, big enough, and powerful enough to whup Pacquiao and if Pac wins I offer no excuses for Cotto, this is like Hagler-Hearns!
Hello all Sup Lyle hope u doing good.

Hey man, I'm doing as well as I can. Thanks for the rep.

The only questions I have about Cotto aren't really about HIM so much as his "trainer". To beat Pacquiao he's going to have to execute a good gameplan, they are going to have to have had a great training camp and Miguel is going to have to be in terrific shape.

You figure despite all the commotion in Pacquiao's camp with Freddy Roach et al that Manny got in a great camp and knows he has to bring his A game because Miguel Cotto is more dangerous than De la Hoya or Hatton

Well first, I was a little surprised by some of my friends picks, but oh well.

Obviously you all know who I am going with, and it's not just "fangirlism".

I'm picking my man Miguel, because I have faith in him, and in his abilities. I will ALWAYS stand by my man, no matter what.

Miguel has great ring smarts, and knows how to make adjustments as a fight goes on. I think that Manny will win the early rounds due to his speed and volume of punches, but I see Miguel eventually using his jab to keep Manny at bay, and he'll throw in his left hooks to the body and arm, and begin to slowly break him down.

I think it will come down to who wants it more, and I see the hunger more in Miguel, than I do in Manny.

Will Cotto stop him? Not sure, but I'll still say it will be a TKO in the 9th. My only concern, is that I hope that Miguel does stop him, because I think if it goes to the cards, and it's a close fight, Miguel will get screwed like JMM did, because there is too much money at stake if Manny loses. So, I just hope that it is judged fairly, because I will be upset if he gets screwed.

IF Miguel loses to Manny fairly, of course I'll be disappointed, but I'll be disappointed for Miguel, because I know how much he wants this. However, I won't be disappointed that he lost to Manny, because I am a fan of Manny's as well.

Best of luck to both men, and may they both come out of this fight free from major injuries.

    WAR COTTO!!!!!!!!

Geez, this is a close poll. I've been saying Cotto from the beginning & I'm sticking with that. Possible late stoppage!

I voted for Manny but I'll be cheering for Cotto during the fight because a. he's the underdog and b. the forum will be unbearable for a while if Manny wins.

Like I already said, iv never thought Cotto was very good, hes too one paced and takes too many shots, he keeps his hands high but loads of shots get through.

Even an old Barrera gave Manny a harder fight

I dont think Margarito was cheating against Cotto, look at the state of his face here, its just his crap defence

I pick mine about 1 1/2 year ago when Pac was still at SFW.

Re: Lets say Pacman vs Cotto 2009
If Pac KOs Hatton and beat DLH, that tells you that Pac can carry his power and Sturdy enough for Cotto. Maybe Arum will be crazy enough to make this fight.

Offence wise Pac can handle Cotto. Pac has longer arms and a much faster guy. Power right now belongs to Cotto but we still have to see the stronger Pac at 135-147. Pac vs Diaz, Hatton/DLH will answer that.

Now we knew how strong Pac is at 140-142, For this fight Pac will be at the heaviest at 145. That means extra power. Roach already revealed what M1P1 virus means, Pac's Middleweight Power. I see another Pac Domination in action Pack fight. Pac by rd 8 TKO.
    Did I said Domination again!!!

    Only Floyd left!!!!
