Spectacular by Manny but Mayweather still beats him. $150 million dollar fight. Ref hyped it by stopping it like that.

I've been saying for a while that Manny is by far the toughest fight out there for Floyd and fuck he was better than I expected. That is a bad dude.

I guess the excuse will be both delahoya and cotto were weight drained. Cotto's face looked just as cut up and bruised after this fight as it was after the margarito fight.

    Wow!

I can't believe how ineffective Cotto was from the middle rounds on. Pacquiao looked like he wanted Cotto to go toe to toe and Cotto just wouldn't do it. An absolute awesome performance by Pacquiao.

Pacquiao the freak of nature once again showin us wat he is made of...der is no doubt in my mind no "he hasnt fought a true welter" or "can he handle a true welters power" non of that Pacman is a beast all credit due to him he juzz earned himself a fan.
    Well done.

A spectacular display and Manny deserves full props. Cotto had his steam taken out by the two knockdowns and was out of ideas after the 4th.

The fight should have been stopped a bit sooner than it was because Cotto seemed to only be in survival mode towards the end and was landing nothing more than an occasional jab.

Pacqiaou can take a shot at WW and make sure he lands 3 or 4 make in return. His punches seem to cause a lot more damage too. I still don't think Manny is a big puncher at the weight, but his speed and timing is electric. He keeps hacking away and eventually the corner/ref needs to step in.

I felt bad for Cotto, his corners advice was seriously erratic and seldom constructive. He tried his best, but there were echoes of Margarito towards the end. His face gets busted up almost every fight now. He was very swollen in the post fight interview.

Cotto should take a long break and if he is to fight again, maybe fight the winner of Berto/Mosley or give Clottey a remach. Pac seems to be directed towards Mayweather. Hopefully money isn't too much of a problem. There will be a lot of it so I don't see any issue with it being 50/50, especially as Pac is the one now fighting proper WW's.

    It was a complete dismantling.

Cotto came out doing what he had to do, bringing the fight to Pac and closing the gap and getting on him early, only to get quickly figured out.

He tried to go south paw, that went terribly wrong fast. Wrong man to exchange hard straight lefts with. Back to ortho Cotto goes, and the breakdown continued. Pac coming in at all angles, throwing from often awkward angles, but landing, combo upon combo.

The knock downs were hard, and foreshadowed the end. But the end took a long time getting there for Miguel Cotto.

At times as the fight wore on, and the dismantling continued, Pac went into cruise control, comfortably, the smaller man walking his opponent down and exploiting anything and everything. As much as it looked Pac could end it any time if he wanted as the fight went on, and the damage grew, the more you knew the fight had to end soon...for Cotto simply had no answer. And there was much damage.

Pac is a special fighter. There really is no more question about it, in regards to him belonging at which weight, or his name in what place in history. He made history tonight. He should surely have quieted any last remaining doubters.

I wanted Cotto win. I have rooted for him for a long time. I have also rooted for Pac. It was a hard fight to watch. But it was also boxing at its finest.

That was greatness we watched tonight. And Pac's place in history I believe is now secure. His name belongs among the greatest. And he's still fighting. He can can only do more. We all know what that is. Let's hope it happens.

Great heart Cotto, you are a warrior and gave us all you had. Great fight Pac, you showed us what you are made of also. And a great night for boxing not soon to be forgotten.

well, Pac-Mayweather has to rank up there with all those great anticipated matches in boxing history between fighters in their red-hot prime. trinidad-delahoya was probably the most erecent one of equal anticipation

    it'll happen. $$ talks.

show some compasion, it wasnt a premature stoppage by the ref it was infact 2 rds too late. cottos coach was too green to realize that his fighter is being tortured.

i hope there is no excuse this time around, cotto was game and landed many power punches. pac was just better than cotto! pac even played with cottos gameplan.

before hand i want to congratulate manny for the victory. and also i want to congratulate cotto for being his best. both fighters made this day a day to remember in the history of boxing.

i dont think the ref hyped it man.. i think if anything he let them go more than he was supposed to. i remember yelling at cottos corner when they asked him for one more... they should realize that it was a done deal by the 9th round. props for cotto for fighting like a real man and being graceful in defeat but thats when an experienced corner comes in handy. they were so focus on winning they forgot the well being and health of their fighter.
