Mayweather signed up to fight Marquez at 145. If Floyd was willing to fight Marquez at 145, why not Pacquiao? I don't see why it matters if the weight is in that range. It would only be Manny's second fight at welterweight and not in a row either. Unlike Mayweather who fought Hatton (a career junior welterweight) at 147, Pac fought him at 140. ODLH was his first fight at welterweight. Don't forget too that less than two years ago, Manny was fighting at 130. All I'm saying is I don't think it matters at all if the fight with Floyd is at 145.

You seem caught up on the weight issue. Are you also really bitter at Paul Williams for forcing Sergio Martinez to come up to 160 rather than at Sergio's natural weight of 154 just for the weight advantage?

Mayweather beat Hatton up for 10 rounds then knocked him out lets not forget Floyd didn't even take Hatton serious he went on dancing with the stars Hatton was basically done after this fight look at the Lazcano fight. Don't get me wrong what Pac did to these 2 fighters was great im not denying that and then theirs Cotto now i thought Cotto would win this was a great win for Pac but was he done after the defeat against the Master of Plaster Margarito we don't know. The main fact is lets just get this fight on but if Pac starts all this it has to be at 145 or 143lbs or he want 60/40 split then he must not want the fight. When interviewed after the fight he never mentioned Mayweather and when interviewed by Kenny when asked about Mayweather he skated around it the sport needs this fight in the words of Mills Lane LETS GET IT ON!!
    Mayweather should beat Pacquiao.

However, Manny's wins over Hatton and Cotto are better than anything Mayweather has done in a while.

Mayweather fought Hatton at 147, not at Hatton's natural weight class of 140. A big-time advantage for Mayweather. Pacquiao fought him in a weight class in which Hatton had never lost, and DESTROYED him. It looked like Hatton didn't belong in the same ring with Pacquiao. Mayweather's beating of Hatton versus Manny's isn't a contest. Hatton won rounds against Mayweather at Mayweather's weight class and Manny demolished Hatton at Hatton's weight class.

And Cotto just beat a tough top ten welterweight in Clottey after the Margarito fight. Cotto was still a tough, tough competitor coming into this one. I, for one, predicted Cotto would win. The Cotto that showed up last night is by far better than any welterweight Mayweather has ever faced (Gatti, Baldomir, Hatton at 147 etc.).

Realistically, where would Manny place among the all-time-greats if Manny beat Floyd?

Without doubt he would be up there with the very best of them.

To beat a fighter who has gone that long and never lost would confirm what many are already speculating.

Would still prob need another super fight to confirm it 100%, Mosley or similar, or even another Marquez fight.
