I got a question for you? Who demanded for this fight to be made?

For sure, it's not the governing bodies since it's not like someone is the mandatory challenger of some champion. Hope you have now an idea why weight class and governing bodies plays a little role in this particular rare special match up.

145 lbs. is not a ridiculous weight. It's only 1 lb. from each boxer's last weigh-in weight.
let me throw a 1 lb bag of sugar at your head and then tell me 1 pound is nothing, and WBC had nothing to do with the Pac/Cotto fight yet they found a way to squeeze in there
145 is the midpoint weight between Mayweather and Pacquiao, why can't we agree on that? It's the most logical and fair weight for this fight to happen.

The governing bodies tried to squeeze themselves in these super fights to keep their belts in the limelight.

It's not the governing bodies who demanded that Mayweather-Pacquiao should be made. It's us, boxing fans who wanted/demanded for this fight.

There is NO reason why a Marquez fight could not be at 140 nor ANY reason why a Mayweather fight should not happen at 147.

None of Cotto's belts should have been on the line against Manny either. A catchweight should never be for a title. Either you can fight at the weight or you can't.

Exactly, carrying a belt that says max limit is 147 then saying i wont fight you above 145 is complete BS..

If Mayweather agrees and signed a contract to fight JMM at 144 lbs. (tho he didn't made the weight for some reasons), why can't he agree to fight Pacquiao at 145 lbs.?

Cotto classified as a welterweight boxer agreed to fight Pacquiao at 145 lbs. (and made the weight). Why Mayweather can't do the same?

If 145 is not acceptable, should it be at 146 lbs.? That's Myweather last weigh-in weight.

The belts has minor roles in this fight. Throw away the belts and think of the best and most sensible weight Pacquiao and Mayweather can possibly meet and fight.
