I think he meant that the reason they are refusing to play for their country is because there is no money to be made from it. They would rather represent the club that is supporting their lifestyle and lining their pockets, rather than represent their country with pride.
I don't know anything about the Bentley and Carragher situation, but I'd say that is the case with Stephen Ireland, who is an attention seeking douche of the highest order. The sooner the newspapers just forget about him the better, as he relishes being in the headlines.

As for Henry, it was wrong, but shit happens. It was a spontaneous reaction and he did what he did on the spur of the moment. I feel bad for Given, Keane, Duff etc... it was last chance saloon for them really, but no point moaning about it. Cheating is part of football now, provided you can get away with it. Duff dived on numerous occasions during the match, and there is not a word about it. Henry seems like a decent type to me, and as I said, spur of the moment is all it was. Wish everyone here in Ireland would stop playing the Liverpool sympathy violin - all you hear is "Poor us, poor us..."
Take it on the chin and forget about it you drama queens, it's not the end of the world.
