Taylor hits well, but a lot of his punches are hard and wild, and his ratio of punches landed isn't even that high. Then the judges happen to give him a slim decision the same way with Winky, the same way with Bernard Hopkins.

I think he fought the appropriate fight against Winky. The only thing that I thought was really sloppy was when he kept his left hand down. He landed enough to wobble Winky and make his forehead swell up. I just can't fathom how anyone could have that fight as a lopsided victory for either fighter. THe fight was close enough for a draw.
Boxing might be a sweet science, but judging it ain't.
i would guess he keeps his left hand low to imitate someone he once saw(its not tactical, that much i know)Originally Posted by tuckwopat
and winky won convincingly... why? because taylor barley landed a punch in that fight
Maybe he's not the most accurate puncher in boxing but put anybody up against Winky and Bernard and there not gonna have real high connect percentages. But the right hand is still a bit loopy.

The way to beat Winky is to actually put the pressure on him and to get him out of his gameplan, Taylor did that....
Jermaine was agressive and wild but Winky couldn't capitilize on it because he was older, smaller, slower and probably wasn't expecting such a high paced bout. Taylor was in better condition.
Well, it must have been a phantom who made Winky swell up and get knocked off balance.Originally Posted by SalTheButcher
Yeah, what was his landed percentage? Horrible, the same it was in the Bernard fights.Originally Posted by SalTheButcher

Alot of Taylor's punches were so strong that it went through Winky's guard, bodyshots and especially the right hands. Taylor alot of the time, although he was being backed up (Taylor was doing this purposely) was outpunching Winky on the ropes.
no, it was the power of taylor, he didnt have to connect alot to do that, but that swelling was present in the first 3 rounds, ITS NOT FROM AN ACUMULATIONOriginally Posted by tuckwopat
And it was the power that made it a draw. Otherwise, there would be not dispute.Originally Posted by SalTheButcher

please tell me you mean he just threw more (which means nothing) because i know you know better then to count a punch to the arms
no, it was the judges bias/incompetence that made it a drawOriginally Posted by tuckwopat

well winky seemed do ALOT on the ropes, while taylors landing percentage WAS EVEN lower when he was on the ropes
I agree that J.T.fought the right fight but still lost a close decision..And whoever said J.T put the pressure on Winky must have been watching someone play the video game instead of the fight on HBO..J.T has never seen that kinda pressure ....EVER!Originally Posted by The_One77
