I can't tell you that QB's will be bad from Miami of Ohio but I can tell you Florida QB's (more specifically Steve Spurrier coached QB's) don't do well in the NFL (although I think Tebow is different enough to give him a shot). Texas Tech QB's don't do well in the NFL, Run & Shoot QB's have never done well in the NFL. You're taking your chances drafting an FSU QB as well. You don't want linebackers from the Big Ten either, unless it's Penn State and even then, they are never as good as the linebackers from elsewhere (SEC, PAC10, ACC, Big12), they have no speed....look at all the top LB's in the NFL, very few are from the Big Ten: Pat Willis (Ole Miss - SEC), Ray Lewis (Miami - ACC/BigEast), Jon Beason (Miami - ACC), Lance Briggs (Arizona - Pac10), Curtis Lofton (Oklahoma - Big12), Barrett Ruud (Nebraska - Big 12), Brian Cushing (USC - Pac 10), DeMeco Ryans (Alabama - SEC)....have I proven my point?
If Notre Dame went back to Stanford and took their coach and ended up having a couple of rough seasons it would be very bad. I think one thing that bothers people is that they aren't in a conference and therefore it's National Championship or nothing for the players and coaches and that may be too much pressure on those guys.
