    Default John Duddy

Saw John Duddy for the first time at the start of sky sports coverage last night. I thought he looked like a real good propect with power, speed and a good chin. Seems like a really decent down to earth lad as well.

Any of you guys seen more of him and what do you think?

Aye, you're right there - he took a few shots. Perhaps just proving to us he has a chin!!

I don't see him ever being a true contender. He will continue to beat these medicore opposition for a long time. The day he really steps it up and fights a top 15 contender he will be layed out. My Opinion.

The only fight I have seen is the one that was on sky sports last from last weekend at Maddiston Sq. He did take a few heavy shots but was never really wobbled I would say. Perhaps it was in one before this one.

Im pretty sure he was nearly stopped, I may be thinking of Bernard Dunne but I think Duddy has been hurt and if he was hurt again last night, maybe hes just a banger.

I was dissapointed with Lenord Pierres performance against Duddy, I expected more from a Rooney fighter, Pierre is very fun to watch

I have only seen Duddy fight twice, but I am impressed with his power and aggresiveness; he seems to be relentless and coupled with the chiseled physical structure, he should get fairly rich before he buys the farm in Northern Ireland.

PS Duddy should protect himself when backing up. While it looks good, it is dangerous.

I like Duddy, I would like him to fight better name opponents now though. He needs to take on a Sergio Mora, Willie Gibbs, or Yuri Foreman (whom I think is a great talent although he has very little power)

yeah that was bernard dunne, he was crusing a fight and got caught with 30 seconds to go in the last round.
He still won the fight but did get hurt. showed some courage

he is now 22-0 and chasing michael hunter, when bernard turned pro he moved to the states and hooked up with Freedie Roach. Even sparred with Mosley and Manny Pac and held his own.
I remember him from the ametuer days in Ireland, Never beaten in over a 100 fights in Ireland

Interesting stuff Larry. I have seen Hunter a good few times now and he is a good fighter. Could be a good fight between Duddy and Hunter - both men are agressive and offensive fighters. Also reckon neither mans defence is all that great either which would make for a very exciting fight indeed.

I think his ring entrance music should be the old Batman theme.

    Duddy-duddy-duddy-duddy-duddy-duddy-duddy-da- BATMAN!!!

He could come to a fight dressed as Robin ( the Gay version from the 60s) complete with latently homosexual red hotpants and cape and still sell out Madison Square Garden .

I like him as a fighter who knows how far he can go .
