Re: Pacquiao vs Mayweather who wins?
you could also say mayweather looked good in beating an old bloated marquez whose best fighting weight is at 130lbs. i think a lot of people are looking too much into that floyd win. honestly i think pac would beat mayweather pound for pound, that is if they were the same size. but being the naturally bigger fighter i'd give him the slight edge having the longer reach and better skills. i'm hoping pac's natural physical abilities, heart and determination will pull him through though.
I think that was always par for the course. The bottom line is Marquez was always going to be just another marquee name added to the illustrious Mayweather resume. Mayweather collects these in the same way Oscar did. I had no doubt about the outcome of that fight, the great big man will always beat the great little man. What did suprise me though was the ease in which Mayweather handled JMM in the thought stakes. JMM has pretty much always found a way to win, and he has done that by working out his opponent in the ring. JMM is a very, very intelligent fighter, who can adapt, address and execute a plan on his feet. I at least expected JMM to give Mayweather something to think about, regardless of Mayweather's obvious size advantage. But he couldnt, and that is testament to Floyd.
I think Oscar had the best chance of beating Mayweather as he had all the tools. He was big enough, clever enough, and had the weapon, namely the jab. He just ran out out steam and neglected what was working. And that for me was Oscar's last hurrah. The Oscar that fought Manny was shot, and a shadow of his former self. But thats not to take anything anyway from Manny's performance, he did what he had to, and did it very well.
Hatton simply wasnt prepared, Rick is a good friend of mine, and 3 weeks before that fight Oscar tried to pull it. Rick was looking shocking, getting battered in sparring and was massively over-trained. Everybody including Rick's dad tried to stop this fight, but Rick wouldnt have it. I got told 3 weeks before the fight was Rick would get knocked out, and that was from inside his camp. I went to Vegas with my mate, and after what I had told him, he put money on an early Manny KO, the rest is history.
Do I think Manny would have beaten a prime Hatton ? Yes I do.
The Cotto fight though was flawless, and it was almost as hard to watch for me as the Oscar and Hatton fight. Along with RJJ, Hatton and Oscar have always been my 3 favourite fighters, with Cotto not far behind. You could say Manny is my hero killer, he has certainly smashed to pieces my favourite fighters of this era, .......the little facker
I have the utmost respect for Manny, he is nothing short of sensational, and really does defy all conventional logic, but I just dont think has has the required tools to beat someone like Mayweather. He just isnt big enough, and doesnt have the reach or the jab to upset Mayweathers groove and knock him out of his rhythm.
I have learnt that you just cant bet against Manny right now, but if the name Floyd Mayweather Jnr is thrown into the equation, then I think you have a very special exception to the rule.
Just my 2 cents ...........

Some people say boxing is a matter of life or death, it's not, it's far more important than that.
