People may laugh but I think Froch beats Kessler, he has zero upper body movement, decent footwork nothing special and his mental issues after his last fight could be a problem.

Kessler I love the guy one of my favourite fighters but I always said he is very over rated, hes decent at the basics thats it nothing special at anything.

It is possible he just had a really off night. After Paul Williams lost to Quintana, he said that he just felt off that night, especially that he couldn't find the rhythm with his jab. I remember thinking (and posting here) that actually seemed like an accurate assessment. His performances since have given credence to that being the case.

This fight didn't have quite that same feel to it, but maybe to a lesser extent it's still part of the equation. It did seem as though Kessler just kept plodding along with the same non-winning approach. You can beat almost anyone if you're great at one very effective style, but to really be successful at the top level, you have to be able to make adjustments. He'll never be a great inside fighter, but in this fight he had the chance (just about his only one) to score on the inside if he'd just thrown.
It could be Mikkel Kessler is overrated, it could be that Mikkel Kessler had an off night, or it could be a bad style match up. I personally think its a mix of all 3.
Yeah, I agree with you and with what Killersheep said.

I'm tending to lean that way now man.... Unless Froch can't take power shots from Kessler i think this is gonna be a great fight. Kessler's limited upper body movement will suit Froch's sloth like hooks and uppercuts down to the ground, but Froch is quite easy to hit if your pretty accurate and have good timing, which Kessler has both........ I have a feeling that this fight will be a FOTY war with both fighters really lacking movement. Its certainly not going to be a running contest thats for sure. I think both fighters could even be tasting the canvas in this fight. Bit of a last man standing job.....

I don't know if Froch beats Kessler. Kessler loses to people who are better outside fighters then he is, and can throw inside combinations with speed.

Froch does neither, he swings from the outside. He is like a 168 version of Margarito. There's no way Kessler is gonna get beat by Froch the same way Ward or Calzaghe beat him. Froch isnt a better outside fighter, this could wind up looking like the Andrade fight.

Completely agree with this post. Froch isn't fast enough or good enough on the inside to give Kessler problems. Kessler shouldn't have as much of a problem with holding or dirty tactics because the fight is scheduled to be in Denmark.

I disagree there mate I think Froch will get the better of Kessler on the inside, I dont see Froch have as many problems as some may think on the outside Froch has an underrated Jab and Kessler comes forward, I think personally people will be suprised how well Froch does against Kessler.

People are crazy fast to jump ship from a fighter like Kessler. I was pulling for Ward but thought that Kess would ultimately take it. I figured Kessler would put pressure on him and ultimately cut off the ring, negating his movement and start to break him down. I figured Kess to pull out a close fight but it didn't turn out that way.

People are talking about "what happened with Kessler" and less about how great Ward fought. Sure there was some head clashes but shit happens... We're not playing patty cake.

Ward's in-fighting was superb. He looked like a whilly old vet in there... Kessler is used to picking dudes apart and then using his power to finish the job... But you need to start a job to finish it. Wards angles and movement coupled with his in-game befuddled Kessler.

Cut Kessler some slack. He fought probably one of the best young fighters in the world.
