For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
Anyway about Khan, I think he has an entertaining style a good amateur history, and a strong sponsor in Reebok, he has the celebrity trainer Roach in his corner so why not. I think he could use his skill set to be competitive against any top Light Welter that's currently considered elite. So yeah sure why not?

I don't care either way. I've never disliked Khan. I've broken his balls a bit but don't hate him. I think once he realizes that he's really not as good as he thinks he is, it might come as a bit of a Breidis Prescott... I mean shock.
I know that this thread is only about whether you want him to become elite or not and not whether he will which I find a rather strange question... No. I guess I wouldn't for no other reason then I think he can't.

"There's nothing special about him." -Sergiy Dzinziruk
You can't be elite if you can't take a decent shot. Fact
I do not like Khan because he is with Warren and PPV, and selectively managed to look better than he really is. If he proves me wrong I will be the first to give him credit but really he is not world class.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I just don't like Amir Khan end of, and its nothing to do with skin colour either. Infact how the hell did that even get brought up ? of course your going to get some racism in every fight.
That involves fighters from different countries or fighters with different skin colour, your not going to stop the odd couple of twats going to fights. Thinking that Britain is still stuck in the 50s.
But me personally i like fighters from all different countries and cultures, and sometimes i just don't like a boxer end of no matter where they come from. I never really liked Lennox Lewis much and rooted for Evander Holyfield over him.
And currently i don't like Carl Froch who is white and from the UK. My point is the dislike i have for a certain fighter, would never be what colour they are. And i honestly can't understand why people would think that in the first place.
ok MIKAY - neg repping is one thing, calling someone nazi scum is another especially if you're too much of a cowardly cunt to say it to peoples faces on the thread. Asshole.
Why do Khan threads always have to lead to accusations of racism? I find that really irritating.
I have a known history for disliking Khan and most of that emerged before and after the Barrera fight. We all know that I love Barrera and what happened in that fight sent me over the edge. I dislike injustice and Barrera copped a very raw deal. I don't think Khan came over particularly well in the build up to the fight nor carried himself very well afterwards. I loathed him for a good few months. One of the good things about not living in the UK though is that you don't need to meet the general public and you don't need to read the phoney sports media. I'm generally able to avoid any mention of Khan and so my loathing has been aloud to dissipate somewhat and I am now rather ambivalent about him. This Salita guy he is fighting is not on my radar and it's a fight that I can pretty much ignore. It won't matter to me who wins.
So, in response to the main question of the thread, I cannot say yes or no. It's more a case of me just not caring either way. I don't think he will ever become an elite fighter based on what I have seen though.
I would imagine more Missy with black straight hairs, bigger breast and a whip in her nazi role somehow.
As for Khan, I quite like him a a boxer, he's exciting, has abilities and every tools except maybe an elite jaw, perfect for a drama. I assume the fact that I like him, no matter if it might make me unpopular to admit it.

That's the way it is, not the way it ends
Nobody has accused anybody of being racists. All that's happened is me and HTH both had experience of wathcing Khan/Naz fights in public venues where racism has been very apparent, so it was brought up and discussed. Nothing remotely wrong with that and nothing to get irritated about.
Missy commented that racism was in force at Khan fights - from both sides.
I understand that topics like this are difficult to discuss because some people don't know how to deal with them (mikay for example - idiot), but it's a valid topic nontheless for the majority of the civilised saddonians.

I really hope Khan gets badly knocked out this weekend and we can all end the year on a high note in good spirits.
Miles has a point though.
You have to seperate the genuine racists attacking Khan from genuine boxing fans that just don't like him.
If you go into a pub where the whole place is shouting racist abuse at Khan they're probably not the best people to socialise with![]()
