Your promoter is sent wth certain criteria to negotiate with. Arum did his job. And Pacquiao didn't turn down the terms. Pacquiao is shying away due to the dates. Pacquiao has turned down the dates. Plain and simple. Arum made it clear that Pacquiao doesn't want the dates. Even in this article Arum is saying the dates aren't agreeable. If it was the terms he would've stated such. Mayweather agreed to all the dates Arum suggested and now Pacquiao is shying away from anything before May. The fight can still be made. All isn't lost but Mayweather is the first one to agree and only an imaginative in denial mind can blame Mayweather at this point. Even Arum indicates that.
what deal? did mayweather sign? under what terms? obviously its all talk. i could say on national tv i want to fight pacman but i didnt say the terms. so does that mean that hes ducking me.all bs. where is your proof that mayweather agreed to all the terms arum suggested. its all about the money for arum. if he suggest the fight to be in january that dont mean that team pac has to accept it coz his promoter said so. is arum the one fighting that he's giving mayweather the dates he wanted? and whos blaming mayweather?
You just don't get it. Arum, the opposing promoter, said Mayweather agreed to the terms. There's your source. A man who is paid to negotiate for Pacquiao has said in plain english that Mayweather agreed to the terms both parties negotiated. Thats the proof. Are you saying that Arum has lied? Why would he lie in favor of the opposing fighter who he hates? Why would he fly all the way to the Phillipines if he didn't have Mayweather's word to agree to the terms?

I agree that it's just terms, but you think Arum is going to negotiate a 99/1 split? There's a gag order, but obviously Arum feels the deal is fair for both fighters or he wouldn't even approach Pacquiao with such an offer. Before negotiations Team Pacquiao tells their negotiater what to ask for and how far they are willing to compromise. If these demands weren't atleast met half way, why would Arum even agree to them? Why would Arum even approach Pacquiao with them?

Obviously even before the Cotto fight, Pac had planned to take time off, as he stated in the post fight interview... He obviously planned to take time off right through his election, and then fight after that was all done..

He'd probably set it in stone with himself and with Roach etc...

But Arum wants his pay day as soon as possible, he's gone straight out and got Mayweather on board, and now he has to go tell his client (whom would have told Arum even before Cotto that he's not fighting again until after his election) that he's pretty much signed a done deal with Mayweather and he has to fight on March 13...

I understand where Arum is coming from, and really hope Pac takes the fight.... But if I was Pac i'd be pissed off having organised when the next fight will be, and probably having Arum on board with him,,, then while he's off planning his holiday and election, Arum is off organising a fight for him right when he's on his planned break..

It's like Golden Boy Promotions pretty much organizing a done deal fight for Floyd while he was retired (read, taking 2 years leave)...

Like I said, I hope Pac fights, but Arum is pushing something that he would have known Pac wouldn't want because he had planned to focus on his election and have a break after the Cotto fight... Pac has had a big couple of years and especially the last year since fighting Diaz, you would understand him wanting a break, and taking one...

So I wouldn't be surprised if Pac stands on his principles and says to Arum "I told you I was taking a f'ckn break for this election, and you fully understood it, so you're being a dick head organizing this fight when you know I didn't want to fight during this time.."

And I wouldn't blame Pac for that.... Even though I want him to fight, but he will already feel it is completely NOT on his terms by Arum coming in and breaking all his plans with trying to schedule a fight during this time..
