What's the matter with judges these days?

the issues isn't robbery because the fight was close and a case could be made for both guys, but I know I rather would have been martinez during the fight. The issue is the ill ,bordering on mental deficiency scorecard of 119-111. There needs to be some accountability for these judges this is just stupid.

Arnaoutis got jobbed really bad yesterday against Coleman too.

I was going to post about this, because of all the talk of commentators biasing their audience. I thought this was one of the worst cases I've ever witnessed of the commentary being completely biased. In the first two rounds Wally Mathews almost sounded like he going to cry about how Arnaoutis wasn't fighting like himself, and was eating all those Coleman rights.

Then it seemed like for the rest of the fight, they were seeing it through the eyes of the hugely Arnaoutis loving crowd. Every time he landed something decent they raved about it and seemed to totally miss Coleman's nice counters. I didn't score RBR, and I was left with the impression that maybe Arnaoutis just pulled it out. However, I just couldn't wait for the commentators reaction to the scores, because I had a feeling it was going to be a lot closer than they thought. I really don't think it was a robbery.

As for the 119-111 score, I think Emmanuel Stewart hit the nail on the head. Lots of judges score aggression and volume over effectiveness. If you look at the fight in that light, then that score is not hard to come up with. I believe more in the "which guy would you rather have been in the round" philosophy, and from that stand point it was very close. I thought Harold Letterman's card was pretty good, except that Martinez took the 11th. So I had it a draw.

It does seem like we need a better system. You don't see disparate scores like that in many other sports that are judged. Many Olympic sports for instance (ironically not Olympic Boxing); where the high and low scores are thrown out, while the median scores are kept.
