Actually, Chavez tested positive for furosemide. Furosemide is one of many masking agents for steroids. A good experienced steroid user never tests positive for steroids, knowing when to cycle on and off, but can test positive for a masking agent. That is why the masking agents, most are legal, have been banned also.

So what is the purpose of taking a masking agent if you have nothing to reproach to yourself? just getting in troubles?

Well, I don't know what Chavez was on so I don't want to automatically say he was masking steroids. But masking agents are good indicators. Manny Ramirez got suspended from baseball for 50 games for testing positive for an illegal masking agent. Chavez looks guilty playing the ignorance card. But its better to test positive for an illegal masking agent than a steroid.

Maybe you were totally joshing but someone's physique can be very misleading. Does James Toney flabby look like he is on steroids? Toney tested positive twice. RJJ and Mosley have an average boxer build and they both tested positive for a steroid. Boxers mostly want to stay lean and just get quicker, gain more endurance, and maybe stronger. Not bigger or muscular bulkiness. There is a steroid that will enhance specifically any one of those attributes and some will do a few without even a noticeable change in physique. There are many legal supplements and ways to cut weight. I'm not saying Chavez was on a steroid but taking a banned masking agent is too risky and the punishment is too harsh for a pro athlete to be using it for anything else.

too many people are under the impression that steroids will instantly make you huge, they wont ... you dont get big by accident, without proper training and nutrition to achieve muscle growth it wont just happen on its own
