Paul Johnson, whilst the best coach in the game, is just not a fit for ND.

I think Brian Kelly is the smart, cheap, and sensible pick...he's won everywhere he's been, he runs a high powered offense, and he can recruit the area. Notre Dame really needs to re-establish it's brand and I think to do that the #1 thing they have to do is join a BCS conference!

They need to join the Big East.....and when they add ND they need to add ECU!!!

Kelly is going to have to recruit his ass off but at least he knows the area. Notre Dame has more problems than just the coach, they used to be able to recruit because THEY had the sweetheart TV deal and now EVERYONE is on tv and they weren't the only independent school FSU and some other ones were too so it was the norm. They need to join the Big East or Big 10 and then they will see improvement in their recruiting because at least you get to go for a Conference title every year and that will give the coach more room to work if you win Conference Championships they shouldn't be able to fire you regardless of how you play in bowl games

So I just read the Big 10 is in the works of adding another team to that division and one of the top candidates is Notre Dame if thats the case recruiting could get allot better.
