What a tool Johnson is, squaring up to Wlad and Vitali at the end as if he's a big deal.

He was Junior Witter at 230 lbs, fucking awful, I was willing him to walk to on to one in the dying seconds.

I'd even root for David Haye against him.....

My god, why he fought that way...that was ridiculous...

I thought he had good tools to at least be a "threat" in some rounds....the guy is just a threat for boxing in itself acting like he did..

I really would like to see one athletic heavy fighting with his heart against klitchko...

problem, are we able to name one

Johnson will be embarrased after all the pre fight talk. Seems like he was delighted with the fact that he didn't get knocked out and didn't care about the title. It will probably be his only chance of getting a world title and he blew it with that non display. Vitali did all he could against a fighter who didn't come to fight.

Is anyone really surprised? Of course all of the pre-fight talk was just that. Even I knew not to take that seriously. Everyone knows Kevin Johnson doesn't have much power in his punch and that Vitali has a great chin. The fight really couldn't have gone any other way. The only surprise is that Vitali did not KO him or TKO like some had predicted.

Problem with Vitaly is that everyone seems to be confident against him and do go in with a plan and heart...

Vitaly looks as though he is easy to beat and these guys seem to all fall to the same opinion then in the ring all is not what seemed so easy and obvious

I didn't see it the way everyone else did. Obviously Vitali dominated, but the thing is Johnson should have been nowhere near a title shot. He's actually got some real talent, but you can't make the jump from Devin Vargas to Vitali Klitschko just like that. He needed at least another 3 or 4 fights to gain the experience to be competitive in there.

I'm amazed no one is actually bagging on Klitschko for making this I believe a voluntary title defence. It's the equivalent of Mayweather or Pacquiao choosing to fight Antwone Smith, someone who might be dangerous in about 18 months to 2 years. Unlike others, I saw some talent in Johnson tonight & if you give him another year or so, he might be able to work himself back into position. Johnson fought like a sparring partner tonight for one key reason & that's that at this stage of his career he should be no more than a Klitschko sparring partner.

If he learns from tonight, he will get another shot & he'll make better of it. A more competent promoter wouldn't have just jumped at the money, but would instead looked to get him the shot at a level where he was ready for the title.

Cagey counterpunchers are always going to give Vitali trouble. I'd like to see Toney or Chambers in there with him.

Good post Jaz, I do agree about Johnson not being ready, the trouble is NOBODY is ready, and the guys at the top have already been handily beaten by the Klit's so its a difficult situation.

But I don't think Vitali fighting Johnson in a stay busy fight is as bad as Mayweather or Manny fighting Antwone Smith. Firstly Vitali is almost 40 and has only been back in action this year after an absence of four or five years.

Secondly it was his second fight in as many months. Floyd fights like once a year so it would be ridiculous for him to fight Antwone Smith but if he wanted to get another quick stay busy fight round about now to just get some more ring time in before March it wouldn't be that big a deal, it's what the old school fighters did all the time.

I guess Vitali wanted to makes sure he got in three fights this year, that's all.

This is sad...replay at round 8 right now.I want the 30 minutes back that I spent believing Johnson had a chance .Vitali can be worked on and hit,not a monster but Johnson did not think so.But props to him...love his activity level and he gets it done.

This was THE WORST round by round I have ever fucking seen...thanks for nothing you bastards. I checked on here time and time again, never a total score, never a round score, just people bitching about the fight...can you please in the future score the rounds no one gives a crap about what your opinion is on the fight UNLESS it includes the score, and even then the score/result is the main reason for a round-by-round or any kind of spoilers

Who has prooven that? The only reason Vitali lost to Chris Byrd was because he tore his rotator cuff (he was well ahead on the scorecards).

I want to know, was Vitali sitting down on his punches or has he turned into a giant Sam Soliman?
