I agree with you that Mormeck should see away Maddalone this evening fairly comfortably, as Maddalone is a decent regional fighter, but has never been able to cope against the better quality of opponent.

As for whether he can make waves in the heavies, he should, coming from cruiser have a better workrate than some of the guys in and around the top 20 ranked guys at the moment, but he wasn't a massive puncher like Haye was, and if he is aiming for titles, he might have to stick around till one of the Klitschko's retires and go for a vacant belt. But with their recent opposition, he might be waiting some time.

We've got quite a list of Cruiser champs turned heavy.

Haye
Adamek
Gomez
and now Mormeck

Gotta wait to see how he looks, but he certainly could do well against the smaller heavyweights if he's still able to keep his conditioning. I would love to see a Haye/Mormeck rematch at heavy, the first one at cruiser was Haye's most exciting fight IMO.

Right on Greg, Haye v Mormeck I was a really good ding-dong affair, I remember doing the RBR, and thinking that Haye was in trouble at one point.
