Shoes also give you more ankle support, because of the grip you can change directions faster and something UFC fighters don't do as much is that you can drive off your planted foot a lot more with shoes on. This leads to more power in your punches. These are just a few of the reasons people wear shoes in boxing.

grip. look how you pivot in boxing compared to mma, they're not generating as much torque when they punch, that transfers from the ground up.

the point we should be making is to get rid of the advertisements off the canvas then it wouldn't be slippy.

The styles are very different. Where we place and transfer weight. If you've ever boxed all you need to do is look at your back foot wear in the big toe area. I've seen brand new shoes on some people get worn right thru from sparring in as little as a month.
