There is something I do not understand about the season finale. The timeline for Rita's murder is questionable.
When the hell did it happen?!
FACT #1 Trinity shows up at Dexter's old apartment, at night, and is pissed off that it's actually where Deb is living. (If he had already killed Rita why would he bother going anywhere else?)
FACT #2 Dexter shows up at Trinty's house minutes before a raid and barley escapes into the garage. (It's then that he notices the busted windshield and tracks down the car)
FACT #3 Dexter follows Trinity. Trinity pulls over to check under his hood and discovers the oil cap missing. Dexter drugs him and we see that Dexter has taken the oil cap. (He then takes Trinity and kills him.)
So...
Rita left for the airport in the afternoon and came back because she forgot something.
Rita picked Dexter up from jail. So Trinty did not kill her then.
When Dexter was watching Trinity's family being led away Trinity was picking up his car. Trinty did not kill Rita then.
Dexter sabatoged Trinity's car and followed him until it broke down. Trinity had to of killed Rita before Dexter started following him, but he didn't because he was busy breaking into Deb's by mistake.
Unless, he did kill Rita before Dexter took the cap, but the car would have been black and Dexter would have had no way to find it.
Maybe Dexter took the cap before Trinity picked up the car. But this is not that case, because it means that Trinty drove to kill Rita with Dexter in tow. Besides, how would Dexter know when and where the car would break down unless he was in stealth mode the whole time?
So if Trinity did the killing it makes no sense no matter how you "slice" it.
I think that Quinn did it. Or some copy-cat.
No way that Trinity had the time to do it himself
