Why should Pacquiao comply? This is just another Mayweather ploy to play head games...Hell if he agrees to the overweight pricing then I am sure Freddie will talk Manny into taking the test....Floyd is scared and to say different is a Floyd nut hugger....
It is an insult to Pacquiao that he take a test for Floyds satisfaction...Yet Floyd won't agree to Manny's request?Floyd always looking to stack the deck in his favor
The idea of Manny should just take the test to prove Floyd wrong is not a good reply...This will then become a common practice for other fighters making simular demands of opponents...
Hell Floyd is the one who left the sport....Manny stayed and fought on but now Manny should jump at what Floyd wants? Nah...
Yet Floyd knows he wants to come in overweight to make thing ever more in his favor....
Why doesn't Floyd agree to have his whole body tested for feces and prove he is not one big asshole?
Manny should nor any fighter have to take anything more then the mandatory test required by the commission or the other guy should have to succumb to the same test or at minimum one guy gives in to the others demands then vice versa
Fair is fair

Fair is fair and that is why both fighters should act as honestly as they can. Mayweather needs to make weight and Manny should provide a comprehensive drugs check. What's the problem with that?
Boxing should be held to stringent standards. After all, this is a sport where people are getting battered. The playing field needs to be level. If that means actually meeting contract weights or providing a little blood to erase suspicion, then so be it.
If both men are submitting to the same testing procedures, I don't percieve how there can be any problem.

Agree 100%. This sport has so many shady things in it. Margarito with hand wraps, Mosley with balco, Floyd not honoring the weight, etc.
They both need to comply with the weight and blood testing. It's estimated that they are both guaranteed 20 million each. That's 20 million reasons right there.
The same commission that let Margarito all but get away with loading his gloves? Mayweather gives a very fair explination why he believes they should both take further testing, and its not an unfair request. Especially given the amount of athletes who have been caught taking steroids. I don't see how this is Mayweather gaining an edge, and I doubt that Manny takes steroids.
Array
One further thing I will add, is that whilst I agree that both fighters should follow the same rigorous testing procedures, let's just wait a while and see what the Pac camp response is in the next few days. He might well agree after a short period of deliberation. If not, then the accusations can fly somewhat.

funny how the Pacquiao fans are trying to insinuate that Mayweather is trying to weight drain the already smaller fighter lol and no Pacquiao fan should be bitching about anyone else trying to play the weight game, when Pacquiao is king for it already![]()

I don't think he is either and considering how things have gone over the years I can somewhat understand the request but this request is coming from a guy that gives no guarentees he will make weight nor is he willing to succumb to a severe penelty for not doing so...What does that say about Floyd?
That is why I said if one gives in then so should the other...Manny should not have to test just because Floyd wants him to, and like I said if it happens then it will open the doors for other fighters to make such demands....
They make such test before and after fights for illegal substances.....That should be good enough anything else is a demand on the opponents behalf so if Manny gives in so should Floyd on the weight penelty..
I do think the commissions drop the ball often considering the example you used with Margarito...I have said openly several times that it is a crime that Richardson found the substance not the official....
As for Floyd agreeing to the test sure he will because he will be able to step in with a 20 plus pound weight advantage by not agreeing to make weight so explain to me how that is not just as much the advantage as the use of steroids? Though I condone neither......In fact that is justr as bad if not worse because he is using it as a mental advantage as well a physical one....
Why the hell can't there ever be a fight that just goes off without this bullshit? Just train, step in the ring fight your best and the better man of the evening wins......
I guess that fad wore off in the 70's

How the hell woudl Mayweather enjoy a 20 pound weigh advantage? When has Mayweather ever put on even 7+ pounds between a weigh in and the fight? Not even when he was at 130 did he add that much weight from the weigh in to the fight. Mayweather has never been recorded gaining more than 3 pounds between weigh-in and the pre fight weigh-in, and that was against Baldomir. Mayweather came in at 146 with absolutely no problems against Juan Manuel Marquez, why would anyone think he wouldn't make the welterweight limit? Mayweather maybe weighed 4-6 pounds more than Marquez, but not anywhere near to 20 pounds. The only difference in their size was his height which was an inch or two.

Ok one thing that IS really annoying is that people keep repeating this idea that Floyd blew up to 160+ on fight night against Marquez.
He was weighed on the night just NOT by HBO. Both he & Marquez took voluntary weigh-ins for NSAC, which were published in what I believe was the November or December issue of Ring Magazine. So anyone looking to find that info can find it in there. Marquez weighed in at 146 on the night. Mayweather was 152.
Anyone who has any issues with those figures, feel free to write to Nigel Collins, the editor of The Ring, to complain.
On the issue, Pacquiao should take the test. I can't see how anyone but the biggest Manny fan or someone who hates Floyd to a level that's really quite worrying considering he's only an athlete, could actually disagree with the general feeling put forward here.
Array
It was an exaggeration and I don't think I ever mentioned the Marquez fight....Then why should Manny take Floyds requested drug test but Floyd not agree to the penelty on the overweight limit?
It is OK for Floyd not to weigh in correctly but not OK for Manny to deny Floyds demanded test?
That is fair how?

Well according to the article.
"Schaefer said that all terms -- including the site (MGM Grand in Las Vegas) and an unprecedented $10 million-per-pound penalty if either fighter comes in over the 147-pound limit -- had been agreed to by both sides."
So if we assume that this is true and Floyd agreed to the missing weight penalty, I don't think a drug screen is too out of order.
