The Olympics are a completely different entity on there own...They have a completely different set of comformities...

Otherwise the Golden Gloves would be doing the same thing, or how Ringside Worlds None of those use a the same type of drug testing...

The Olympics stand alone - Thats why they have a thing called OLYMPIC STYLE DRUG TESTING!

We are getting off track here...

I have nothing against these tests... I just feel what is good for one is good for all, and just because one fighters camp has a big mouth doesn't mean everyone has to abide by it...

SIDE NOTE: Roach came to a compromise... 1 week prior... hopefully that will apease everyone...

I do hope they improve the drug screening process in the future though...

    Its been real fun...

The testing takes place over 10 weeks time and requires 8-10 urine samples and 5-6 blood samples. So while it is not ideal, it's better than 30 days.

    Promoter says Pacquiao-Mayweather likely off

    (AP) – 47 minutes ago

LAS VEGAS — The promoter for boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao says a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. will not happen unless Mayweather's camp drops its insistence for Olympic-style blood testing.
Promoter Bob Arum says if that doesn't happen by Thursday, the proposed March 13 fight that would have likely been the richest ever in boxing is over.

Arum accused Mayweather's camp of raising the issue not because they were worried about Pacquiao taking performance-enhancing substances, but because Mayweather never wanted to fight in the first place.
Arum said Wednesday that Pacquiao would agree to testing by the same agencies that test pro football and baseball players, but not for random tests by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.
He said that Pacquiao still plans to fight March 13, and will now look for another opponent.

I don't get what the problem with the testing is. They both have to go through it, its not like Manny will be the only one of the two subject to the tests. Whats the big deal? Even if you're scared of needles, you getting paid millions, so what is the fucking problem?

A for the issue of the weight, nobody can criticise Pac for this. The fight should be at 147. They're both Welterweights. Floyd should fucking sign a 147 deal, I don't see a problem there either.

Mayweather signed on at 147 with severe penalties. Pacquiao is the one that's backing out, but he won't get the flack Mayweather would get because people like him.

Boxers are tested like in other sports, just not like the Olympics... Which the Olympic style testing is for ALL THE OLYMPIANS!!! not just the big events... Thats my point!

Floyd wants a brand new testing system implimented in this one fight... But yet it is not done nor has ever been done before...

you need to watch that fight again jmm did hurt him

and the olympics arent a big event ?
JMM sure did I think i saw Pac wobble a bunch a times, and shoot i think Pac even down once or twice....."whatever"

You must have not read what i said on the Olympics point... My point was that ALL OLYMPIANS are subjected to that type of testing EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!... This is one guy telling the other guy you need to take this test even though no other boxer has ever had to before... Just because!
Because this has the potential to be the biggest boxing fight of ALL-TIME. It should be treated like the spectacle it will be not like every other fight. It's not a standard run-of-the-mill fight.

Why doesn't Pacquiao want testing? What is the reason?

I actually disagree. Pacquiao's reputation will take a big hit if the fight doesn't come off because of his refusal to submit to steroids tests unless there is some reason we don't know about yet.

This s**t sucks. Yes, it is a good point that all boxers should be subject to this testing if Manny must undergo it, but if Floyd complied, so should Manny. The main point being that the Mayweather camp believes that they are the elite of the sport and the testing should be treated as such. What pisses me off is that this is the final thing getting in the way and Pac refusing puts his character into serious question. Hurry up and make this s**t happen already!

But the Boxing Committee is not the one asking for this type of testing... Its Floyd MONEY Mayweather... He is not doing all this for the welfare of his life or any other fighter out there... If he was why wouldn't he or any other fighter ask for this type of testing..

    Guys,

I'm not against this type of testing, i'm against Floyd grandstanding like he is threatened by PAC being a cheater... You guys know this is a ploy to mess with PAC whether you agree with the test or not...

Paquiao is at the top of the boxing heap with a lot of suspicion from many people regarding possible steroid use. If all these suspicions were pure bullshit he would accept the tests to prove it, and being a top athlete and you saying this is a ploy to mess with Pacs mind is bullshit too, if that is all it takes to take his mind out of the game he can't be the best of the best. A couple vials of blood over a couple month's will not make anyone feel woosy or run down like some other poster posted earlier in this thread. My feelings are that Pac has been doing something illegal and thats why he is refusing to do these tests.

$50 milion payday and he's going to throw it all away over a ounce or two of blood, who is the scam here?, from past negotiations with Pac on his fights he always has the upper hand. This will just make sure everything is legit and fair, so man up you little pussy and take the tests, you and Arum can't spin this one as being Mayweathers excuse not to fight, prove your legit and the fight is made.

Walk away from this and it will be spoken of for years to come and your past accomplishments come into question.

It figures. Floyd once again being a little biatch and refusing to fight a top dangerous fighter. I guess Floyd is content with being the Queen while little Manny remains the King. Floyd is a punk and a coward.

When this fight actually happens it'll be interesting to see how many "The Fight Is On..." and "The Fight Is Off" threads were made in response to every little ploy and barb from each side.
