    Default World Junior Hockey Tournament

Tournament started today. 3rd period of 1st game, Canada beating Latvia 15-0 to open it up.

We are on a 5 yr streak, and trying to make it 6.

I don't follow hockey much, but this tour I do. Probably because of it being during the holidays, not really sure. But yea, I like watching it.

    Anyone else?

Heavyweights beating up on flyweights going for 6 in row.

Is it on ice or grass? Its a good spectator sport, I like ice hockey.

Pretty much. Most of the opening games are kinda mismatched so the stronger teams meet up later in the tour. Russia, Sweden, Finland, the USA are usually strong and good prospects. Final score was 16-0.

I actually don't care if Canada wins this year, there aren't any Canucks prospects on their team and I always prefer cheering for an underdog. I'd like to see the U.S.A. and Sweden do well, because they have high Canucks draft pics on their rosters, but other than that I'll probably be cheering for Finland or something.

This year is quite good in matter of french Canadian in the whole team for sure nonaway, loads of frenchie or not, I am always 100% behind the National team, Junior, U18 and all the others. Normally if Canada is eliminated, I go depending of my feelings, by these time I quite like Latvia because I know a lot of latvian peoples and because their team did well last year... which seems that it won't be the case this year but indeed... but still Josh, even if you're not that hot because we lack Canucks on the rooster, you have to support the red leaf-ed legion

from here in rural Canada I have to suggest otherwise. I don't live on a farm per se, but damn close to many...And I think it is safe to say we have plenty canadians on the rooster.

    Ã*

IT is, but only blind patriotism, just supporting your hockey team ain't too patriotic if you respect the adversaries I think

The only reason why I am happy that Russia did beat Finland is so we have chances to cross the skates and beat the hell out of them once more Thus said, Russia for the Olympics will have the hell of a team with Markov, Kovalchuck, Ovechkin and Malkin Hopefully their goalie won't be too shiny and their defense beside Markov a bit shaky plus we have a very physical team *cross fingers*

I am not happy with Russia beating Finland. For whatever reason (probably my burgeoning insanity) I have a strange affection for Finland and I almost always cheer for them.

I prefer Finland by far too, Finns peoples I met always been the nicest and they did prove their value through history. However, Russia-Canada is THE big rivalry in ice hockey so if the damn russians win, I have to find a positive point to it all.... we'll finish the job in the finals
