IMO all 3 (Morales, Barrera, and Marquez) would beat Hamed, hell Barrera already did lol and he did it impressively
I think Hamed would have beaten Morales because it took alot of discipline from Barrera to beat Hamed and I think the hot headed Morales would have tried to brawl with the Prince and would have got caught with a big punch.
he would have got caught and kept coming, we're talking about the prime Morales who NOBODY was ever to legitimately knockdown, much less knock out, Morales would have systematically taken Hamed apart and either stop him late (IMO Morales had more power behind his shots) or beat him by a clear decision

LOL!!! Agree to disagree my friend because I think we could go on and on about opinions of who would win and how. And on a side note your user name explains alot; I could chose a prime Roy Jones vs Morales and you would probably pick him to beat Jones. BTW Merry Christmas everybody.

    122-126 lbs, year 2000-2005, I'd pick Morales.

    126-130+ lbs, year 2005+, I'd pick Marquez.

In their primes at featherweight I pick Morales. Marquez is good but a faded Barrera beat him at superfeather IMO.

As for Nas vs Morales, Erik would have walked on to a lot more punches than Marco did. Barrera had a good boxing brain and defence which is essential vs Nas. Erik didnt have either of those and let his heart rule his head so its a toss up.

I think Morales was very good on the outside, I think him being a little more lengthy helped against Barrera, but I think Barrera seemed a little sharper both technically and otherwise when they got to medium or on the inside.

If you thought Barrera beat Marquez you must be a Barrera fan imo.

    Marquez clearly won that fight.

Prime for prime i favor Barrera though.

Barrera landed the more shots statistically and he scored the only KD. Harold Lederman scored it for Barrera aswel.

If it happend in 2000 then it wouldnt have gone to the scorecards.

Barrera possibly could have won if it was in 2000 but no way would he have stopped him, i mean Pacquiao is and always was a bigger puncher than MAB was and well he was unsuccessful in putting Marquez away, i'm pretty sure that Barrera would have used his boxer/puncher style instead of his more technical approach, going down to the body and staying on his toes moving around behind his jab, cause if he tried to just slug Marquez would counter, making it a tougher fight than needed, and back to the real fight that happened, Barrera was also the only one to hit the other guy while he was clearly down, so well karma's a bitch lol

morales' aggressiveness would have been his undoing against a sharp counterpuncher like marquez. often, morales very easily got taken off his gameplan (box technically) and got drawn into a slugfest whereas marquez almost always stuck to his gameplan and didn't let the other fighter dictate his style of fighting. marquez by SD.

Sorry to quote you, i'm not calling you out but Morales was a boxer that loved a fight, Barrera was the fighter that knew how to box.

They were evenly matched but Barerra was the smarter, more headstrong character: Hence, he was more prone to get the better of Morales.

In regards to Marquez... I love him as a fighter but PRIME 4 PRIME, I think he gets beat more times than not by both fighters. (Assuming that fights don't happen north of 130lbs)

agree, but i think that it was caused by his hatred for Barrera, and it's clear as day that the two don't like each other, it wasn't some act lol

Yeah i understand beef is beef but it's evident that it was never really that hard to provoke Eric Morales.
All you had to do was punch him in the face, and a fight erupted.

I admit that this tendency made him immensely popular but to be ultra-critical (which is a back-handed compliment), the lack of control let him down.
