Yeah. I just can't stay silent while some filipino posters here are resorting to personal insults thinking that it will help drive their point. That point, mainly manny's just hyping the fight and wanting to call the shots is moot now, if indeed the fight won't take place. So it's a good time to hold back on the paranoia meter and trash talking now, I'd say.

There are lots of "unbiased" filipinos out there who love boxing by the way. Just that they're too darned lazy to post.

I am a Filipino and been a member for several years now. Ok, first of all I would like to make a point that Manny Pacquiao is not adored by all Filipinos. He is respected as a boxer more rather than a person.

I have made comments on Pacquiao a few years back that he is not as humble as he appears to be. And now I am proven to be right. The guy is so far up his own ass that a simple drug test request from Mayweather insulted him to the point of destroying the chances of this fight.

Second, I hate it when people generalize and we have a lot of members who do. A lot of you guys think that there are very few Filipino boxing purist. Have you ever been in the Philippines and watch our local boxing scene? This is how Pacquiao developed and others as well. If boxing is not supported in our country then where would Pacquiao be right now? I don't even have to justify this, some of you guys think that being a purist makes you better. Not all but a lot!

Going back to Manny. He is full of it. I used to hate the person, now I hate the fighter as well. What a dumb move. I do not believe that Manny is on roids. Roids are not rumpant here in the Philippines. Cocaine, shabu and marijuana is the norm. hahaha. He is just so arrogant and self absorb nowadays.

Although, I am happy he is in the hot seat. He will not win the elections. The guy can't even handle this issue properly, how can he adressed the problems in his local town.

I will say this...... MANNY IS NOT TREATED AS GOD HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES...... whoever thinks that is stupid. We have a collection of Manny jokes and he is laughed at for running in the elections. You're fight is in the ring Manny, not the courts and certainly not in politics.

Violent Demise--- stop calling us flips. Grow up.

Please change the thread title. It's Filipinos not Philipinos. Quite confusing. That's because Filipino is the right way to spell it in english and Pilipino for Tagalog(local language).

i'm filipino and i think pacnuthugging is sickening. i go to pacland website for news about pacquiao and other filipino fighters. i check the forums sometimes but man it does get irritating. i guess its a filipino thing. we filipinos are very clannish and if one of our own is show in good light, we're very proud. but when one of our own is shown in a bad light, it's either we keep our blind faith or we bring them down, HARD. we filipinos are prone to crab mentality. but we're also very passive aggressive. in this case, we have our manny, our nation's pride and redeemer and he gets all this bad rap. it would naturally hurt us to see all these things going on but we filipinos are too emotional that logic goes straight out the window. i guess its a cultural thing. we've been shat on for generations that we would hold on to everything we can just to get the upper hand.

me, i just want the damn fight to happen. and it WILL! if not march, then late 2010. i'm sure if it.

Sorry, don't know how to edit the title thread, but would say I'm certainly not generalizing about all Filipinos. I'm sure that there are Filipinos who are fans of boxing and not just Manny, I just wanted them to shout out because the noisy ones who support Manny seem very single minded and very aggressive to any discussion that would seem negative towards Manny. Hopefully you guys can show the the other side of Filipino boxing fans

    Titleist905t,
I was going to ask this the other day. Does the Filipines know how Manny is handling this whole issue about PEDs? If so, will people still be motivated to vote for him?

Also, how is the media in the Filipines talking about this? Are they questioning Manny or are they defending him or maybe half and half? Just curious.

I disagreed with pacquiao when he ran for office though

That's a good step mate. Next step might be to admit that all his contradicting excuses of why he doesn't want to get his blood tested makes him look suspicious the more he talks about the subject, right?

The media is being carefull in critisizing Manny. Why? Because he brings in the big bucks for them and ratings. There are only 2 major television networks here in the Philippines that can broadcast Manny's fights. One of them is ABS-CBN. ABS-CBN is not a nuthugger and was crucified for it. They used to broadcast Manny's fight but lost it to GMA 7 because Manny was attacked on a personal level by one of the popular tv personalities at ABS-CBN.

Another proof that Manny is not as humble as people percieve him to be. The Filipinos are divided in their opinions. But I would say that the majority is now pissed off with the way Manny is handling things.

I always wondered where the "manny is humble" spiel came from too. He, like pbf, has a hell of a lot of yes men around him who get paid for doin jack shit! Michael konz anyone? Wtf does he do? He seems to throw money about almost as carelessly as pbf too. Even roach said he's not the same pac anymore.

And you want mindless filipino's? 2 words - You Tube

But to be fair its not just filipino's. I was surprised that the general public actually are siding with pac on this calling floyd scared and a pussy.
    Amazing
not really amazing coz truth of the matter is, Floyd decided to retire so he won't fight Cotto and other top contenders in the 147. He was afraid of Williams then and he was shit scared of Cotto.

so whether you accept it or not, people see floyd as afraid of Pac coz they can trace floyd's history.

I agree fully with titleist. PAc is not seen as a god here. He will not last a day as a politician in the Philippines.

As a politician, Pac is laughing stock. As an actor, we see all his dramas as comedies. As a singer, I could sing better than him.ehmmmm.

I don't even see pac as a humble fighter. I see him as an actor doing his part.

In real life, many filipinos (that includes me) hate his womanizing. I personally hate his gambling and all his fighting cocks.

I personally hate his associates ( crooked politicians). Filipinos know who they are.

BUT as a fighter in the ring, PAc is truly remarkable. An all-time great. No one can deny that.

Pac is a Filipino but as a fighter he represents what it is to be a true warrior. When I defend Pac, it's not because I'm nuthugging though I may sound one. It's because I'm a true boxing fan.

I love the way he knocks people. i love the way he developed from a one-dimensional fighter to an almost complete one. I love the way he trains for a fight. His dedication is something that every fighter should have.

he doesn't trash talk his opponent. he does his talking in the ring and that why he's adored by many filipinos and other boxing fans as well.

So to answer the thread starter 's questions: the answer is yes. Many will disagree with Pac on the drug testing issue.

personally, I 'd say to Pac take the drug test and dispel all doubts and take your place as the greatest of all time after you win over GAyweather.

Pac has nothing to lose in this fight. he will have his $40 million+ after the fight and he can retire win or loss.

If he loses, he just lost to a big great man. He's a small great fighter and no shame in that. you have your $40 million. Live like a king in the Philippines.

If he wins, he will be catapulted to greatness alongside Robinson, Ali, Duran, etc.
