I remember seeing pieces on him about how he and a couple of his 'opponents' would travel from arena to arena and have like 2,3,4 fights in a week.Honestley he has more padding than a highschool prom and TONS of No descisions, unsanctioned fights.Used to sleep in his car...have gloves, will travel life career.Really a nice guy.Had a frigging war with Kevin Pompey and went into a couple of guys backyards and just trounced them On ESPN.Traveling gypsy of the journeymen.

Weird I just got through posting Emanuel Augustus vs Ward and Burton on the "Fighters Defined By Their Loses" thread!

I didn't really know about him at the time, but I kinda like Earnie Shavers. He had power, but he really got tough draws on his title fights! "Earnie hit me so hard, he shook my kinfolk back in Africa!" - Ali after the fight.

One that always springs up when this subject comes up is Harold Brazier.A consummate low key workman professional of 20 + years.Nothing glaring in one category but a bit of a consistent cutie,a thinker who had a few shots with closest seeing him have champion Roger Mayweather reeling and all but flat KO'd prior to the Mayweathers title clash with JCC.

the following fighters could've, should've been world champions but for some reason either they fought in a very tough division or just had bad luck:

    baby arizmendi - featherweight - old-timer - 71-27-13 13 KO's

ruben castillo - featherweight - fought in the 70's and 80's and fought the best of that era. really hardluck fighter. 69-10-2 37 KO's

alvaro "yaqui" lopez - light heavyweight - tough as nails fighter who fought i believe in the division's heyday era (1970's). 61-15 39 KO's.

mike ayala - super bantamweight - great technician who just fell short numerous times. 45-6 23 KO's.

art "golden boy" aragon - lightweight - the original "golden boy" who was extremely popular in los angeles in the 50's. was los angeles' first big superstar and was known to date many hollywood starlets. by the way, was originally from belen, new mexico which is about 40 miles from albuquerque where i live. 90-20-6 62 KO's.

Has Sakio Bika won a title? I think he is fun to watch and always up for a scrap.

Poor Angel Manfredy. Beats Gatti when Gatti has just moved up to 135 WITHOUT HIS 130 LBS TITLE. Gets trashed by Mayweather for the WBC 130 lbs title. Has a great win against Ivan Robinson. No title at stake. Loses "the closest one-sided fight ever" against slick Stevie Johnston for WBC 135 lbs title. Cuts back down to 130 to almost get decapitated by Diego Corrales for the IBF title. Beats previously unbeaten blue chip prospect Julio Diaz in a 135 lbs IBF title eliminator and then loses a close one to champ Spadafora. Rounds up a couple of decent wins to rebuild as usual but gets plastered by relative unknown and retires a year later.

He's especially close to my heart because I watched almost all of his big fights live. No luck.

In history...hhhmmm, that's tough one..... Donovan 'Razor' Rudduck comes to mind, exciting fighter, bit of a weight problem later on in his career but he was pretty dangerous...had a chance to beat Tyson in the rematch.
I think Andy Lee will become excellent, it's just that after his surprise defeat, stewart decided to go a bit slower on the kid and to stop putting pressure by saying he was the next big thing. Let's see but I feel that one good.

David Tua. It's amazing that John Ruiz has 1 before him.
