Well I was hoping that they would take this fight. I remember Roach saying that they were looking at Paulie Maglinaggi a few weeks back.

Maidana is nothing special but he can hit hard. That's why I think it is outrageous to think about vacating. Khan could very well win by boxing and moving, but there is always that chance he gets put on his rear end. But this is boxing and that is why people pay to watch fights. If you take away all the risks then it just isn't fun.

I don't think Khan will vacate, especially if he goes up in a division where he'll meet potentially even harder hitter in the middle term. I think it is more a way to try to unsettle Maidie a bit or something like that. I would be very surprise if the fight doesn't happen and personally, I am sure Khan will bring him to school.

150% agree. If you're going to talk the talk (and Roach has been doing that plenty) you have to walk the walk.

In the past fighters ducked each other the clever way - behind the scenes - fighters that looked dangerous coming up were not given a shot for ages in the hope they get beat by someone else.

Thats disappointing. I read an interview with Khan a few days ago where he said he would be happy to figh Maidana, but it can't exactly give him confidence if his trainer is trying to keep him away from a technically limited fighter. If he vacates i will lose the little respect i currently have for him. He talked about being a champion but almost as soon as he gets there he vacates? Its a joke if he does, but i hope he doesn't.
