as I said before, I agree with all of you wondering why they would write emails, especially because they could send a representative to talk or speak in person how... however, I wonder why Teddy would otherwise make such statements that could potentially put him in the murky deep... Perhaps a bit too much faith in his sources or an indirect attempt to get the fight done by putting pressure on Pacman to take the test.... Dunno, this is just this part (why say that if it's not true and risk some lawsuits) that makes me to wonder.
If it is true, I could imagine that the Mayweather's camp would still ponder their options and assuredly not spit on such a juicy match right away. As they say, money makes the world go round, perhaps they would ask for 5-10 millions if he's tested positive, agree to keep under silence and just bank the bonus or something, which could make a fair bargain in exchange of the 10 millions per pound.
IF we speculate even more (keep in mind, we're just talking to talk and evaluate), the Mayweather camp and PAcquiao deliberately didn't do the match for march to allow more time to find a compromise about the Peds thing or to give the time to Manny to come out with a clean organism for the fight, all that kept secret for some financial reasons and for the sake of boxing (assuming he took peds, of course).
