I agree one Berto having the tools...IMO if this kid is handled right he can go on to be one of the best in the sport.....I just don't know if his peoiple are handling him right........

After the Collozo and Urango fights you could see the difference between the two bouts and how much Andre has improved but there is a big jump min class between those 2 and Mosley.....

I just hate to see a Vargas situation where the kid has the goods but his team doesn't know enough to groom them properly...
This just occurred to me now, but I wonder if all the criticism he got for the way he fought Urango will affect him against Mosley.

It really depends on Mosley... If it's the Shane that doesn't employ his Jab then he's gonna have a rough night cuz Berto can box fairly well and has a bit of pop. Shane def has the chin advantage as I've seen him get pasted and stand there...

I'm sorry but people talking about Shane being past it... He's been looking in top form his last few outings, albiet against guys he could hit, but c'mon... Could he get old overnight? Maybe... There's always a chance but Shane has not showed glaring signs yet.

If shane canemploy the jab and stick with it, he'll beat Andre in a competetive affair.

I'm surprised at how many of you are picking Berto.

He's got fast hands and some pop and loads of talent but he seems a little chinny and not too hard to hit.

I think Mosley is faster than Berto, with a better chin and more power.

Berto had a lot of trouble with Collazo, Mosley had no trouble with Collazo, and I don't see him having much trouble with Berto either to be honest.

Remember though that Luis Collazo broke his hand vs Shane Mosley, and it was his most effective weapon his left hand. And even though it was only for 3 rounds, i thought he was giving Shane Mosley a good fight.

Until he injured his left hand, now im not saying Luis Collazo would of won. But then again it surely would of been more competitive ? considering he could hardly use his best weapon for a majority of the fight.

Hopefully it will in a positive way...One thing I can say about Berto in the ring (Something that I like about him) is it seems after every fight he fixes or at least improves the mistakes he made the last time...

Berto is still a work in progress.....One with unlimited potential.....As far as the thought from people on him being chinny, from what I have seen he is not glass jawed but more or less gets caught when getting over zelous...something again that can be fixed as he matures

I actually think Berto will win. Mosley looked great in his last fight yes, BUT he will not be fighting someone who will just stand there and try and walk through his bombs like Marg did and don't forget how poor he looked against Mayorga in the fight before.

I'm not saying I think it's a foregone conclusion that Berto will win, I just think he might have too much for Mosley at this advanced stage of his career.

Of course Berto has a chance, but I still think Mosley will win, possibly by KO. Shane more than proved that he is not past it against Margarito, and to me he seems hungrier than ever. He seems improved with Nazeem and I see him cementing his legacy with a big win here.

I think comparing their fight against Collazo was very fair. I felt that Collazo looked way more determined against Berto. He threw a lot more meaningful punches and he was trying to mix it up. When he fought Mosley he was doing well until his hand got hurt then he hesitent to throw all night. Mosley did fight a terrific fight, but its much easier when your opponent is committing to their punches. Once Mosley saw that he was able to react in a more offensive way everytime Collazo began to do something because Mosley knew that if he committed his punches would land when Luis' wouldn't.

I think Berto will give Mosley a lot of the same troubles that I think Mayweather would. I view Mosley as a great athlete, but his stance and everything kind of reminds me of Kessler in the manner that if you can get in and out quickly I don't think Mosley would have a very easy time with that. He's a great counter puncher when he is faster or you are there to be hit, but he wasn't super great against a good jab and in and out movement. We saw Oscar employ much more of the in and out tactics in their second fight and he was far more successful both offensively and defensively.

The biggest mistake I think Berto could make is to square up and try to bang with Mosley. Shane is one of those guys who can not hurt you for 12 rounds or he can land that one punch that could conceivably hurt anyone. He is so fast and so physically strong that if he puts everything into a punch it has exceptional power behind it. I really hope Berto fights similar to how he did against Forbes but with more movement and more variety offfensively, I think Mosley is a lot easier to hit cleanly than Forbes, but obviously much more dangerous.

You can never say never in boxing, but I really think Mosley is going to put a beating on Berto. If Mosley is in the same kind of form as against Margarito, then Berto gets busted up and stopped down the stretch (unless he turns to clinch mode, he might survive then). I really do not rate Berto all that highly at all.

I cant call this one. Berto is fresh, strong and a great athlete. Mosley has more class and experience. Both seem very determined and full of belief. I think it'll be fight of the year contender and will go all 12 rounds. Mosley to shade it for me.

I definitely give Berto a shot, Mosley was brilliant against Margarito. But Berto brings more to the table. Add in the fact that Mosley has been inactive & his advanced age & things start to even out

Good points...After the Cotto loss many were dismissing Shane as done, a once P4P elite fighter that still has enough to beat most but will fall short against the elite....Then he destroys Margarito...(Lets be honest Handwraps or not on an Offensive standpoint no one ever beat up Margarito like that)....There is that chance as it is with every great fighter that Mosley just had that one last big Hurahh in him....For the true fans or older ones (I say that because I hate to give away my age lol)...Remember Duran Vs Moore.....Duran was considered shot but then he came back in that fight and was brilliant...

Shane is at the boarderline age of just past it due to Father time and nothing more...So anything is possible...Not saying Shane is done or through by anymeans just in speculation...

Not everyone can be a Hopkins and still be a P4P fighter at 45

I think the Margarito win could be misleading too, true no one ever beat Antonio like that before, but he had been pounded on previously leading into that fight by Cotto & Cintron who both landed their share of bombs!

Prior to the Margarito fight Shane looked very ordinary vs Mayorga & I feel that all the punchers may have caught up with Margarito who was always very hittable.

Berto's going to be a handful no doubt

Despite my thinking Berto has a dodgey chin, I think his handspeed and defense could give Shane some trouble, but he doesn't have the style to beat Shane.

To beat Shane Mosley you need to fight tall, use distance, negate his angles, and tie him up or use tight defense to block his combinations.
